Probably the hardest day of the cycling trip. The day before, cycling to Marhi was way tougher than what I had imagined.
Day one being always a little hard, cycling 40kms uphill with an ascend of 4000ft,
it was really hard.
I was just telling myself to cross Rohtang, and then it would be a little more fun.
But to cross Rohtang, I first need to ride to Rohtang, and that's not the most fun thing let me tell you.
I woke up to rains and thunder, and it delayed everything by an hour.
It was cold, it was raining and I was packed in my -20 jacket because I had nothing else which was waterproof.
Uphill is all about momentum, once you find it you wouldn't even want to stop, which happened initially. But just before Rohtang, I started giving up.
My head was aching, my water was over, I couldn't see Rohtang nor were there any milestones, I didn't know how much more and I didn't wanna climb anymore.
I sat for a long time, having second thoughts, before the weather cleared up and I realised I was doing all that drama a kilometer from the Pass,
it was right in front of me!
And then the next level energy kicked in, and I cycled non stop to the Pass, took a photo, took out my earphones because what followed, was 20 kilometers of just offroad downhill, the most thrilling and my favourite part about it all. (Part one) .
