I would be lying if I said my passion for #powerlifting
has survived my bouts of depression and anxiety. There were/ are days when the last thing I want to do is face the world, let alone face the bar. I forgot about the impact I've made on the humans I've coached and the other coaches with whom I've had the privilege to learn from. There are days when getting through those gym turnstiles is a great achievement onto itself. It's something that hard to explain but this post is just to thank everyone who has seen the tough times through with me.

It's amazing to me how big of a difference a year can make. The guy on the left (old me) didn't know how unhealthy he was. He could only accept where he was and thought dad dieting and killing himself at the gym was they only feel better.
The new me (right) can't stop pinching himself with how amazing it feels to not carry the mental and physical burden anymore.
One of the reasons I decided to become a Certified Health coach is to support and serve people who feel like where they are is where they have to remain. But that couldn't be further from the truth! I'm walking proof.

When I first bought this tank top, probably at least a year ago, it was too tight & I refused to wear it in public, so it just sat in the bottom of my drawer. Today, I pulled it out & wore it in public! Yeah, it doesn’t fit as nicely as I’d want it to but I’m closer than I was 💪🏼🎉 the change in my confidence has been so key over the past 4 months. I just can’t wait to see that confidence change in others through these programs as well!

Three very important questions to check in with ourselves about on a regular basis! I have definitely struggled with anxiety throughout my life. Putting expectations on myself, and then letting negative self talk convince me that I'll never achieve those levels of... Whatever it happens to be! Homemaker extraordinaire, suave and charming professional, scheduled and calculated timekeeper... Yikes! Soooo many hats! And all places where I have found myself lacking.
I'm finding balance as I go, and have made definite improvements even in the past year! Its so important to acknowledge the positive, even while working on improving where we lack.
What is your approach to self check in? How often do you evaluate where you're at and where you want to be?

Day 4 - Mediterranean Green Bowl. I substituted arugula for kale (raw kale doesn't like me) and added chicken since it's another busy, active day. .
I think my favorite item has been the pickled onions. They add so much unique flavor to any dish I've had them on. The basil cucumber dressing hit the spot and is so fresh and not oily like most Greek salad dressings. .
I was going to try to Watermelon fresca but they were out 😭 Black unsweetened tea was a win and not bitter! I'm a bit of a tea snob 😉
