Yay for finally doing a run together in Notts! The Longhorn 10k with its beautiful scenery and the cattle with the long horns. These completely distracted me when I noticed the link between them and the name of the run and hense fell to a chorus of "owwws" behind me.
Thank-you to the lovely ladies who stopped to check I was ok!
I've been missing my long runs. I think I actually quite enjoyed marathon training. Sometimes it required quite a bit of will power to actually get out of the door, especially for the long runs when I was unsure about my route planning or concerned about how isolated a route might be. But I loved the sense of achievement that came from pushing on that little bit further each time. I felt a tiny bit epic. The marathon itself didn't go to plan but I achieved my 'tier three' goal (having missed the first two goals!) of completing it without injury and enjoying it. Now I feel a bit at a loss for what to aim for next. Anyhow, I was keen to get further than the five km recovery runs that I've been sticking to since the marathon and went out for 8km today and I was so looking forward to it and it was hard. Running is such a humbling sport. Nothing can be taken for granted. Special thanks to the lovely group of Notts Women Runners that I bumped into along the way. It really helped picked me up and reminded me how nice it is to run with other people. #runnersofinstagram#running#runner#marathontraining#marathon#parismarathongirls#nottswr#nottswomenrunners#nwrunners#nottingham#nottinghamshire
