Quick scary info on deodorant. Women’s use of razors to shave their armpits coincides greatly with increase of breast cancer. Now raise your arm up, and see how close your armpit is to your breasts. The theory is that shaving allowed for damage of skin and toxic deodorants to enter directly into your bloodstream and start the mutations for breast cancer. 🥺Best way to combat this? I’m sadly going to keep shaving, waxing and primping that being a woman is expected, however, I can easily reach for that more expensive deodorant to make one tiny difference.

Редко ем груши, потому что испытываю впоследствии неудобства в пищеварении, но я нашла лайфхак. Если запечь ее в духовке буквально 25 минут, да ещё с корицей и мёдом(или сладким полезным сиропом), то такая груша станет мягким источником клетчатки без какого-либо дискомфорта.
Так что пробуйте и экспериментируйте над едой 😅 ах да, для большего вкусового изыска я добавила огромную ложку кешью пасты и утро стало вдвойне приятным😜

3/4 cup white and black quinoa
1 2/4 cup water
Sweet potato chunks ( frozen)
Spinach ( frozen)
Pink Himalayan salt
1️⃣ Add some spinach in a bowl of boiled water until ready to add to the cooked veg at the end
2️⃣ Prepare your quinoa. First wash and rinse quinoa well until water is running clear and no bubbles remain, then add 3/4 cup quinoa to a pot of 1 2/4 cup boiled water. Let simmer on high heat for 10-15 mins then reduce to low, cover with lid, place a tea towel over the lid and allow to cook further for 20-25 minutes or until the moisture has evaporated
3️⃣ Roast those veggies! Preheat oven to 185 degrees Celsius. In a oven proof dish, add some coconut oil and place in oven to heat. Meanwhile, slice some red onion, peel some garlic and wash the tomatoes. Now add the onions, garlic, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, fresh thyme and sesame seeds to the heated dish and allow to roast for 45 mins. Mixing occasionally throughout.
4️⃣ Drain the bowl of spinach ready to add to the veg once finished roasting
5️⃣Once the quinoa has cooked, uncover and allow to cool slightly Then fluff with a fork

Ingredients for 4 hot cakes:
1. 1 cup of raw oatmeal
2. 1 Egg 🥚
3. 1 Banana🍌
4. Cinnamon to taste
5. A little Bit of almond milk
6. 1 Teaspoon of honey 🍯 - Preparation: Put all the ingredients in the blender until a semiliquid mass is obtained. Cook in the pan. * For toppings you can use peanut butter or natural almond, some sliced fruit, grated coconut, honey, etc.

💁♀️I Whipped up another batch of the “homemade healthy Nutella” just to roll up these bliss hazelnut bites 🌰because why not add more Texture, Nutrients and Energy Boosters to that spoon of Nutella for more of a Wholesome Grab & Go Snack 💁♀️;
👉All you need to do is combine in a bowl:🥣
-1/2 Cup Homemade Healthy Nutella; (Recipe posted on the Page); 🍫
-1 Cup Old Fashioned Oats;
-2 tbsps Chia Seeds;.

When I first started getting into fitness, I only cared about how I looked. If my glute muscles were present, if my quads were poppin, if my tricep muscles were ever gonna come out, if my lower tummy pooch would ever go away (symptom of estrogen dominance), etc!
After I started feeling really ill from all of my chronic health issues, all I cared about was feeling COMFORTABLE in my own skin again. That’s all I wanted. I didn’t care how I looked. 🎄 Well this oaty breakfast baked bars turned out pretty decent 👏 I couldn’t tell you exactly what went into it (I pretty much winged this recipe), but I did use: applesauce, vegan butter, oatmeal, chopped dates, dried fruit, chopped nuts, cinnamon, and a little bit of jam. I sprinkled muesli on top and baked it for around 30 minutes. I’m sorry guys, I have not been posting a lot of our meal prep and food pics the past couple of weeks. I have not forgotten, but November has been a little busier and a little crazier than usual: between a baby shower, a little family flu, engagement parties, potty training, Christmas dinners, Christmas concerts (feeling tired from reading this? Me too!)… there has been little time to breathe, sleep, and let alone cook. I found myself cooking late into the night or my hubby would have to help me cook too.
I wanted to take a moment to say that it is ok to pause what you are doing, cancel any commitments, or post-pone a chore if your body & mind asks you too! It’s important to listen to your body & take care of yourself, because once you let go, everything around you will slowly fall apart (and it is a lot harder to put the pieces back together when they fall apart). .
I had to do this last week; I felt like a zombie and anything would make me cry/angry. Needless to say, I took a day off work and made it a “me” day. It was exactly what I needed: some sleep, quiet time, and some Christmas shopping (which doesn’t sound so relaxing, but on a Monday mornings the malls are pretty empty👌). Now I feel refreshed and ready to tackle all the craziness the Christmas season brings. If you think you need a break before the Holidays, don’t be afraid to take it or ask for help!🙏😊

Sweetening Monday, one fruit-infused muffin at a time 🍐🍊🍐🍊🍐🍊🍐🍊🍐🍊🍐🍊🍐🍊 I made these with one of my favorite grain-free baking alternatives: TIGERNUT flour [also NUT-free—it’s actually a tuber!]. If you’ve never heard of it, I’m not surprised, as it’s not nearly as well known as flours like almond and cassava, but here are a few reasons I LOVE baking with this stuff:
Tigernut flour is a prebiotic food, meaning it supports colonization of healthy gut bacteria. You can be taking all the probiotics in the world, but without food for them, they won’t stick around.
It has a bit of sweetness to it, so it’s perfect for baking. Along with the natural sweetness of chopped pear and fresh squeezed orange, the only other sweetener I used was a spoonful of maple syrup. It also holds moisture extremely well [although b/c of this tends to require a little extra baking time] so baked goods don’t dry out.
Tigernut flour is a good source of iron, vitamin E, magnesium, and even B6, as well as being shown to have antibacterial properties that support a strong immune system.
My go-to brand of tigernut flour is @organicgemini.

Being back here and knowing that we have so many cute coffee places to try out, I am actually looking forward to working 🤓
And the best thing about working and having coffee: it has so many health benefits!
✅ it contains many essential nutrients such as riboflavin (vitamin B2), Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5), Magnesium and niacin ( Vitamin B3), and potassium and manganese.
✅ it can improve physical performance - it can help burn fat
✅ and it may lower the Risk for type 2 Diabetes and Alzheimer‘s disease. 🙌
That being said, we also have to look at the other side of coffee:
❎ Caffeine consumption may raise blood pressure
❎ it may increase the risk of heart attacks among young adults
❎ it is linked to gout attacks
❎ and can cause indigestion.
My humble standpoint on this is (and this is not a professional advice!): consume in moderation. There have been conducted a lot of studies about the benefits as well as the risks of caffeine and as so often in the field of nutrition, it’s very inconclusive. That’s why I wouldn’t go overboard with drinking coffee. But I also wouldn’t say no to a cup here and there. 🤷♀️

I am off work today but still woke up early and got my workout in which was much needed after quite the indulgent weekend. Today marks the start of week 2 of my conditioning program meaning workouts are upped to 35 mins 💪🏻
Next up on the agenda, coffee, a superfoods smoothie and a FULL day of Christmas shopping. Wish me luck!🎄🎁
IMMUNITY BOOSTING SOUP😌
Bc we all need a little boost this time of year😷 And a little tip if you think it’s hard to make your own bone broth:
After i cook a whole chicken, I pull the meat off and put everything else in a crockpot with an onion, a whole carrot, a few celery stalks, fresh garlic and 1 tsp ACV. Fill to the top with water and cook on low for 12-24 hours.
Once it cools, strain the broth and you have a mineral-rich base for your soup😋
To this I added celery, carrots, onion, garlic, @organicgirl
baby kale and spinach, @eatbanza

Happy Monday, Y’all! Daydreaming back to breakfast yesterday at a local cafe after cutting down our Christmas tree 🎄 I could only eat half of this MASSIVE sammy but it is my favorite combo: egg, hummus, avocado, and loaded with vegetables: roasted red peppers, spinach, cucumber, tomato, & red onion on an everything bagel 🥑 So good, and so filling I had the other half as leftovers today! 🤤 There are so many ways to load up on veggies in the morning, you should try it! 🥒🍅

On the eve of my last day at work, it's a big time of reflection - am I doing the right thing leaving the security of a job?
It would have made me quite nervous a few months ago! I'm now really ready to take on the next challenges and adventures that come with running my own business. 🍓
For those who know my dad, it would seem that running my own business would be part of my gene pool! The vision and enthusiasm to do more is definitely inbuilt, and I'm really excited for the next steps. 🍓
2018 was a year of growth for me, to learn and develop skills and attributes that I need to take this step. While I'm glad I've taken this time to focus on me, I also realised that we all have the required skills to follow our goals and work in a space that lights us up - so ask yourself, am I doing what I love and am I in my zone of genius? 🙏💗🙋♀️🔥

Mixed grain porridge- the humble oats in my view is one of the most nourishing meals to have. Grounding, warming and utterly nourishing and technically gluten-free. It’s just that most factories share their grinds and packaging with non gluten-free produce hence the warning of not gluten free. If you don’t suffer from celiac or any other chronic illness general oats should be fine. Listen to your body though. If you feel tired, bloated or blah after a bowl of porridge 🥣 best to avoid it and get your self checked out.
I almost never do sweet porridge as I prefer savoury breakfasts - perhaps an influence from my upbringing and being raised in Japan. On my way to school I’d smell all the heavenly Unami seasonings of the Far East and inhale the aromas of seaweed, fish, miso and grilled fish. Yes for breakfast!
This porridge constitutes of nori flakes, poached egg ( to complete the protein) Wakame and ochazuke Japanese condiment.
