You know what frustrates me? When people say to me “well you’re naturally skinny, it’s not hard for you” “You just have good genes” Did you know, you can literally turn genes on and off based on lifestyle choices? Did you know I have put blood sweat and tears into the physique I have now? I have seen people destined to be overweight based on genes have the most amazing physiques because of the work they put in and I have also seen the opposite. So let’s stop assuming the amount of effort a person puts in based on their genetics. End rant.

Discipline. We all have things we are more disciplined at, some come easier to us then others, but maybe it’s just more about priorities.
Some people are disciplined with their money. Some people are disciplined with being organized. Some people are disciplined with their diet/training. The list could go on..
If you find yourself struggling to become more disciplined in an area of your life, reflect back to the areas that you excel in. And you’ll find you have a routine/tasks you do to help you stay disciplined in that area. Now find habits you can implement in your area of weakness, and sprinkle in some consistency, you’ll be surprised how you can improve your discipline.

was obviously in incredible shape when she came to us. To take her from day 1 to the stage it was a slightly different process than it is for others. She didn't have much fat to lose, so we focused on building shape along the way. She got extremely lean and developed perfect shape in all the right places.
Justina is a perfect example of someone that truly lives the fit lifestyle and doesn't go through huge swings in weight and body fat between offseason and competition season. This is what we desire for all our competitors. Understand the lifestyle, live the lifestyle, know something other than the extremes of contest prep. Without that knowledge or those habits well-established, you'll balloon up after a show and have trouble prepping for another one down the road.
She's still looking great and is gearing up for shows in 2019.
Competitors can often be just as bad as yo-yo dieters, but oftentimes it's worse, simply due to the extremes that your endure during prep. Learn the lifestyle first, then consider getting on stage...NOT the other way around.
