What else is there to do on hump day than get into the @deepwaterbrewing
This is black, very black. Looked like oil as it poured with a browny coloured small head.
Aroma & flavour is molasses, almost burnt treacle-esque, rounded with a bitter finish & forward alcohol content. Christmas-cakey.
Slightly oily in the mouth, a fuller bodied texture.
At a ABV 10% it’s a monster.
This was bought from the brewery just off the New England highway down at Deepwater, & there’s only a few left so get in quick if you’re an Imperial Stout fan.
More from the guys coming soon!
Day 50 - Casino to somewhere further down the Summerland Way (50kms)
For most of this journey, we’ve been taking a very indirect route. We could have gone straight down the country and saved ourselves about 1500kms, but we may have found ourselves interviewing trees and cows, rather than people. Today, we ran satisfyingly south, straight down the Summerland Way, all day. No navigation necessary.
Ash, our support crew legend did a great job of finding places to pull over, and even managed to squeeze in a run herself! She also got this behind-the-scenes shot of us stocking up at a rest stop, trailer in tow.
Make sure you check out Mustafa’s interview from this morning - we couldn’t believe he hasn’t missed publishing a Crescents of Brisbane newsletter in 688 weekly editions!
