I may have set the bar really high for myself (which I do...a lot🙄) and I know every exam will not have this perfect letter attached to it but this is my first freaking nursing exam in an accelerated BSN program that will take over my life for the next 16 months. I read and studied 11 chapters day and night since last Monday and will be doing it all over again for next week’s exam. Sounds crazy, I know, and YES, I did this to myself because I have a goal and I am not willing to wait any longer to achieve it. So point of this post: I AM FREAKIN EXCITED AND PROUD OF MY DANG SELF! JESUS DID TAKE THE WHEEL TODAY! 🙌🏼🙏🏽 and thank you for all the good juju you sent me!! Just keep sending it over for the next few months ❤️

who is ready for clinical!? ME! I am so excited for this semester. Going to new units such as ED & ICU for MedSurg & of course learning a new specialty OB. Petitioning we change white coats to a color that won’t show 3,583 coffee stains. That way i won’t attempt to bleach it and turn any existing color as orange as this corduroy jacket (swipe for a good laugh 😂)
Second semester of nursing school and we finally learned to use needles, ampules and syringes! Excited to ACTUALLY be allowed to do this at clinical now and not under the radar haha. Let’s see how IV’s go tomorrow 😝😝
Idk how some of y’all wake up at 5 AM every day but my eyes, feet, and soul hurt 😂 By 9 AM we were already done w/ lecture, M&M conference, and pre/post-op rounds. I never imagined myself being a morning person but there is something so serene about walking into the hospital before sunrise 🥰 What time did you wake up today? ❤️

The following is a small excerpt from Hope, Grace and Healing’s workshop AROMATHERAPEUTIC PRACTICES FOR NURSES
Many nurses experience acute or chronic back, leg, and shoulder discomfort due to the effects of being on their feet for long periods of time.
This can be coupled with a recovery time or rest period that simply isn’t long enough, especially if nurses are doing extended or back-to-back shifts. Repetitive bending, lifting, and transferring patients is dangerous and can cause back injuries among nurses.
As a result, nurses experience work-related musculoskeletal injuries at a rate of almost seven times the national average.
Using Essential Oils that are warming to the muscles and joints can help support nurses at the start of a shift; or at the end of the shift when they endure heavy physical loads.
Essential Oils that support muscles and joints include: • Marjoram
• Black Pepper
• Deep Blue Soothing Blend
• AromaTouch Massage Blend
After a long day pounding the ground at work, soothe tired and aching feet with a magnesium foot bath and Essential Oils.
FEET ON THE BEAT FOOT BATH RECIPE
• 1/2 c. Epsom Salt
• 2 drops Lavender Essential Oil
• 1 drop Rosemary Essential Oil
• 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oil
• 1 tsp. Fractionated Coconut Oil
Add all ingredients to the basin or a bathtub. Fill with enough warm water to cover your feet. Swish the water to mix it all together. Soak your feet for 20–30 minutes. Relax and enjoy a book or listen to some music while your feet are soaking!
