I’ve been a little M.I.A. . - Truthfully, I haven’t been very inspired by nutrition lately... which is what a lot of the content I used to effortlessly produce was about. . - While there’s hundreds of different diets out there that all have various benefits (believe me, I’ve played guinea pig and tried almost all of them it seems 🤷🏻‍♀️), what I’ve learned through my dietary trial and error is that due to years of nutrient deficiencies, high inflammatory markers and gut sensitivity, the diet that actually works for me is rather boring and not exactly “insta-worthy”. . - So, if you’re still here as I continue to figure out what messages I’d like to fervently express across the internet, thank you ❤️

I spent most of last week at doTERRA’s convention, and the theme was “dream.” I was inspired and encouraged to dream BIG dreams. And if I’m honest… that’s a little scary. Avocado is not the only thing I freeze to extend the shelf life. Herbs also! Every time I buy fresh herbs, I rarely use them all before they begin to go bad. So now, I use what I need in the beginning of the week, shove them into a little ice tray, cover with coconut oil (any is acceptable) and freeze those little, expensive babies. Any other avocado toast lovers out there? 🥑 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I use sprouted Ezekiel bread as my toast because sprouting grains breaks down phytates. Why did you choose the Plaskett College? I chose Plaskett College as it was highly recommended and the course work provided me with exactly the information I wanted to learn about. It supplies well researched objective information. 2. Which course(s) are you studying and why? I am doing the diploma in nutritional medicine. I chose this course as I wanted a deep understanding of how our bodies function with regards to food. To learn how I can help not only myself but the people around me, to thrive in their bodies. We live in a world where we are destroying all that is good to us, our planet and our homes ( bodies). It is important to be a part of the shift, that changes us to conscious beings and to be mindful in everything we do. Our health is a huge part in this. 3. How would you describe your study experience to date? I am almost complete with my first year and I am delighted with how it has gone so far. This course has provided me with challenging times yet always remaining of substantial importance. I have never felt overwhelmed with the work but rather eager to carry on. 4. What changes have you already implemented as a result of what you have learned? I have only had to change my diet slightly, as I was always a health conscious person, but now I know exactly what I need for my body to flourish. its more than that though, my mindset towards health and food has changed and as a result i haven't been sick this year. In the past I was often ill. 5. What ‘ethos’ do you aim to live by? I dont see myself living by one specific ethos but rather a collaboration of a few. I'm going to be honest. . I haven't been keeping too strictly to my healthy eating regime. . These past 3 weeks have been the busiest, most stressful and tiring weeks I think I've ever had. So where I can, I find a way to keep my spirits up and treat myself for my hard work academically! . I LOVE eggs. They are so versatile and they are a complete protein source. You can pretty much throw them with anything and get a delicious, nutritious meal (like I did here 👍) I sauteed white beans in a skillet with lots of real butter and a bit of bacon fat I saved. I added spinach and beaten eggs. To season I used @redmondrealsalt , pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, coconut aminos and nutritional yeast. I stirred it frequently so the eggs would scramble and not stick to the pan. That's it! I topped it with fresh basil leaves. The perfect little egg scramble bowl. You can use any veggies that you have and make this bowl your own with what you have! • I'm currently sitting in a hot bubble bath with a homeade face mask on watching the videos for the Moon Manifestation Course from @amberlanier 😁 Tomorrow is a FULL MOON, so I figured it was a great time to jump into this course! 🌝 ☆the face mask is pumpkin puree, raw honey, cinnamon and activated charcoal with bentonite clay 👌 SO GOOD! WHY I'M GOING TO GO BACK TO DITCHING DAIRY... So for quite a while I have ditched the dairy but since going to Africa (where I just ate everything I was given!) I have been sneaking it back into my diet. Although I have noticed more spots on my chest, my face is relatively clear at the moment, even though I thought going dairy free helped. However, even though this halloumi was awesome alongside this (gluten free), beetroot wrap, I am going back to ditching the dairy and this is why: 1) Dairy (and calcium) might actually lead to osteoporosis as the countries that consume the least milk have the lowest rates. 2) Around 75% of the world's population is unable to properly digest milk which can lead to inflammation (sometimes in the form of things like eczema and acne) 3)Unfortunately there is also often a mix of reproductive hormones, antibiotics and growth factors (which are known to promote cancer) in the white stuff 😧 So maybe like me, you might also want to try coconut/almond/oat milk alternatives instead of cows milk. Not going to lie, this probably isn't the last time I will eat halloumi (and other dairy products) but with the range of amazing fresh foods at our fingertips I don't REALLY need to have it all the time. If and when I do decide to have some though, I'm going to make sure I bloody well enjoy it 😁👍

Baby girl you’ve got some egg on your face😍 🥚 yolk (NOT white) is a great first food choice for babies! It’s high in cholesterol and other components of healthy fats necessary for growth and brain development. It’s easy to digest and not as likely as grains (like rice cereal and other baby cereals) to set the stage for food sensitivities. Egg yolk is also a perfect, safe texture for toothless babies. It’s also not sweet which is incredibly important for setting up baby’s taste expectations so they will continue to eat nourishing foods instead of refusing anything but fruit and grains. Soooo, I decided what to do with the chillies! Make a curry! Yes! A big batch so I have leftovers for lunch or dinner tomorrow. I don’t know about you but I’ve been feeling the cold a bit today so some warming comfort food is in order. . Recipe. . 500g of green or brown lentils. 2 onions sliced. 3 cloves of garlic chopped. 2 sticks of celery. 2 carrots. 2 sweet potatoes. Handful of peas. 2 big handfuls of spinach. 1 can coconut milk. Cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, chilli and seasoning to taste. Fresh lime. Fresh coriander. . Sauté the onion and garlic in a little coconut oil until soft. . Add the celery and spices to taste, I used around a teaspoon of each and two fresh chillis. . Once the celery is soft add the cooked lentils, carrot and potato and stir well, cover with stock and half the coconut milk and cook for around 20mins or until veggies are soft. . Add the rest of the coconut milk, peas, spinach and cook for another 5 mins. . Went to get some milk this morning and clearly this is not a section in the grocery store 😅 Regardless of one’s personal tolerance of lactose, the modern day practice of pasteurization of dairy products make them bad for everybody. It alters milk’s amino acids lysine and tyrosine making them less available, makes the unsaturated fats in milk rancid, destroys the vitamin content (vitamin C loss exceeds 50%, B12 is completely destroyed), makes mineral content virtually unavailable, and destroys digestive enzymes putting unnecessary strain in the pancreas to produce them in order for you to digest it. Let’s add in the practice of genetically engineered growth hormones, feeding of high protein soybean meal, and breeding for abnormally active pituitary glands (3-4 times the normal milk production), and you have a version of a once nourishing food that vaguely resembles what nature intended. Raw milk is rich in Vitamin K, cancer fighting CLA, rich in vitamins and minerals, and a fully intact supply of digestive enzymes. Because of the latter, I can drink it! (The result of me drinking store bought milk is not good...) Please join me and swim upstream. I 💜 the beginning of every season, and since we don't have 4 clearly defined ❄️🌷🏖️🍂 seasons here, making some adjustments to meals for the season create that sense of season change for me. What's your favorite way to embrace the season change? • • • For me 🍂Fall means pumpkin gets added to anything possible. Today I added 1/3 cup organic canned pumpkin and a tsp of my own blend of pumpkin pie spices to my oats. It's so much more nutritious than buying a packet of flavored oatmeal and is just as quick to prepare.

Clean & Healthy “Oh My...Stir Fry!” . . So often I’ve stayed away from meals that have a ton of ingredients or a lot of chopping because I just want food on the table quickly; especially when I’ve just gotten home from the gym and I’m starving. I’m always looking for hacks to help with this. For this meal, I only had to use a knife for the red bell pepper and mushrooms because I used a Mandolin Slicer. Huge, huge time saver! To get ribbons you just slide the vegetables longways down the blade of the mandolin. . . Here’s what’s in this dish: Baby Zucchini, Red Cabbage, Carrots, Red Bell Pepper, Snow Peas, Red Onion, Shrimp, Coconut Oil, Broth, Cashews, Salt and Pepper. Sauté Veggies in one pan and the Shrimp in another. I use a little home made Chicken Bone Broth in addition to Coconut Oil for added nutrients. Don’t forget Salt and Pepper. Top with Cashews.
