You have to SWEAT to have an effective workout: MYTH! A lot of people think a good "sign" to tell if you're burning calories or not is the amount you are sweating. This simply isn't true. ๐Ÿ™‚ Our bodies are all different, right? Well, that means we all sweat different too! Sweating is our bodies' way of cooling itself down. It's going to happen at different rates for people. Sweating is an indicator of how hot your core temp. is and someone who has a hotter core temperature than their neighbor, doesn't necessarily mean they are burning more calories. Measure by intensity! Are you breathing hard during your interval training? Are your muscle burning while you pile on the reps to the point of fatigue? Then you're burning calories! Tag your sweat-obsessed cardio-loving friend!

A few weeks ago I did a therapy session which was an hour long float session in Epsom salt. Itโ€™s great for the body. i cook beautiful meals for myself. every day, every meal, whether i eat alone or not. i used to save the beautiful ones for nights i shared with others but that was years ago because guess what ? i am the most important person in my life. that may sound a little assholey at first. but thatโ€™s because until recently putting yourself first was seen as selfish rather than self care. most of us grew up thinking that putting others first was an honorable act of selflessness. but thatโ€™s a load of bs. you have to love and show up for yourself every day so you can thrive in this world and be there for others. . beautiful nourishing food is one of the ways that i show my body i love it. so here i am sunday night alone with a beautiful dinner all to myself. noteโ˜๐Ÿผ of - because health is so much more than the food you eat or the way you move your body. i can not stress this enough. you can eat all the plants and perfect your workout routine, but if you arenโ€™t taking care of the other half - your mind, your soul - your body canโ€™t thrive like itโ€™s meant to. so eat the plants, move your body, and then rest, meditate, talk kindly to yourself, laugh, take a bath, and sleep. love you โ™ฅ๏ธ
The conventional deadlift is not a squat!! You can see the differences between Annaโ€™s before and after deadlifts here (10 mins apart) Slowed down so you can see how far the squat style deadlift drifts away from her thighs and therefore her centreline. Although the higher hip deadlift initially felt unnatural for her to make the change; you can see itโ€™s much safer, with the bar kept closer to her body; and of being safer is not much of a concern... other benefits include ... less bruising of the knees or shins, and more activation of the posterior chain than the quads !! In honour of earth day letโ€™s chat cheese and the planet ๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿง€ it takes about 8 litres of milk to produce 1 kg of cows cheese ๐Ÿ„ choosing less dense cheese that requires less milk has a significantly less damaging carbon footprint. So if you love cheese but also love the planet opt for organic sheepโ€™s or goatโ€™s cheese, ricotta, cottage cheese or mozzarella ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ

PROTEIN ANZAC BISCUITS ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿช . Makes: 12 Prep: 5 minutes Cooking: 10-15 minutes . Ingredients: - 1 cup rolled oats - 1 cup wholemeal self-raising flour - 4 tbs honey - 1/3 cup vanilla protein (or plain protein with 1 tsp of vanilla paste) - 1/3 cup boiling water - 1 cup of shredded coconut - ยฝ cup melted olive oil butter (I used โ€˜liteโ€™) - 2 tsp ground cinnamon . . Preheat the oven to 160ยฐC. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, spoon out onto a lined/greased baking tray into approximately 12 biscuits. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. . . Salads are honestly not as hard to make as you might think! Just throwing together this took about 2 minutes. You can also buy prepackaged salad mixes/kits and all you have to do is dump it in a bowl and mix together ๐Ÿฅ— I love salads because they are very nutrient dense!!!
