"A Box Can Never House My Greatness" Pompous? Proud? Conceited? Why? Because I choose to believe what God says of me, instead of allowing you to place me in a box, making one dimensional and limited suggestions in what I can do and who I can be? Why? Because you can't see past my history, where I grew up, who my parents were, what schools I attended? Why? Because you can't get pass my gender, sexuality, ethnicity, beliefs, or the color of my skin? Get out of here with all those limitations and small mindedness! Don't put me in some box with everyone else and expect me to stay there like some good little girl in obeisance to what you are comfortable with. Not. Happening!
There is not a box created that can contain the greatness that God has called upon my life. I do things the way God says I can and will. If that means breaking barriers, busting up stereotypes, destroying generational curses, and obliterating preconceived notions--then that's what it is!
We limit ourselves when we cannot see ourselves through the eyes of God. Not everyone will see who we are or what we are capable of. More often than not, they will place us in a box for THEIR comfort and ease, because to deal with who we truly are; to stand in the light of greatness that God has called in our lives; will only cause them to look at themselves and all the things they did not and failed to do, because they did not believe and accept the greatness that God created in them, too. I am more than meets the eye. It is not pompous or conceit, nor is it excessive pride to believe, accept, and walk in the greatness that God has said is my life. There is a starch difference in having self confidence, confidence in what God says, than being prideful and cocky, thinking you are better than others and made your accomplishments all on your own. HUGE difference. And trust me when I say: My heavenly Father knows how to check a sister if she gets out of line or the head starts to swell with a spirit of I, I, I. #AuthorRutheMcDonald #Believeinself #author #writer #mentor #teacher #consultant #governor #iamrue #nyc #nycgirl #ruefox #lovelife
