Honestly, the longer time I spend not worrying about recovery and my eating disorder, the more time I spend evolving my career and living life. The more I look at food as something to fuel my energy and brain functions, the more I learn to value the act of eating. Ultimately, I think the biggest mistake we make in recovery is focusing too much on eating (don't get me wrong, YOU HAVE TO EAT!) rather than actually recovering. Spend more time seeking knowledge, traveling, singing, dancing, drawing, and doing whatever else fuels your spirit! Look at food as something vital instead of draining your energy on fighting hunger. I've gained ___ (I HAVE NO IDEA 😂😂), but most importantly I've gained a lot more knowledge and "me time". Don't give any eating disorder the time of day.

I don’t know about y’all, but I love baked oatmeal. You can make just about any flavor, and it’s the perfect on-the-go snack or breakfast! Here’s my recipe for this blueberry baked oatmeal:
Blueberry muffin baked oatmeal:
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoonful cinnamon
- Pinch of salt - 1 cup plant mylk - 3 tablespoons nut butter (I used almond butter) - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup maple syrup - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar (can sub coconut sugar, more maple syrup, or any other preferred sweetener) - One flax egg (1 tablespoon ground flax mixed with 3 tablespoons water, let sit until egg like consistency) - 1 cup wild blueberries
Mix everything together and add to baking dish. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes, or until pretty firm. 😋 Enjoy!

In biology, we were learning about ‘the most beautiful experiment in biology’ aka the Meselson-Stahl experiment where they discovered how DNA replicated itself.
It may be the most beautiful experiment in biology, but it’s not the most beautiful experiment ever.
That title is awarded to the first time someone tried to make oats in the microwave.
Picture the scene: the hob is broken, or in use by your mum making jam, or you’re too short to reach the counter top to stir the oats when making them on the stove.
You need to have your daily porridge. How can you make it? An idea pops into your brain and a smile widens on your face. You take your serving of oats and pour it into your bowl, along with the liquid and any other ingredients you like to add. You move over to the microwave- the mystical cooking machine that you’ve only ever reheated leftovers and frozen ready-meals in- open the door and put the bowl of soupy oat mix inside.
Venturing totally into the unknown, you boop the button to start the microwave.
You see the oats start to bubble and rise. It’s a volcano, bulging and bursting hot lava. You’re scared it will go over the edge, but the middle starts to fall in and it thickens.
BEEEEEEEEP. Two minutes up.
You carefully take out the bowl, half-burning your fingers on the way- and drop in onto the counter-top.
AMAZING! A hot, thick, steaming bowl of porridge in laying in front of you. The microwave made it, and you are the first person to know you can make oats in the microwave.
That’s so much more important, monumental and beautiful than centrifuging e.coli bacteria.
Why was this left out of the textbooks?
