I’ve been working on these custom bookmarks as a personal project. .
Each of these bookmarks were inspired by the writings of C.S. Lewis. .
I am a huge fan of Lewis especially his “Chronicles of Narnia” series and his defense of fairytales in his essay, “On Three Ways Of Writing. “
I have been delighted with how well these tiny pieces of art have turned out. .
Which of these bookmarks are your favorite?
I own many copies of Little Women, this is my absolute favorite. It’s just so different. Who knew there were movie tie in editions in the 30s? It’s a bit ironic though as I generally avoid all current movie tie in editions but come on, it’s the great Katharine Hepburn ❤️ #bookstagram #littlewomen #oldbooks #katharinehepburn #favoritebook
Here's one of my arts and crafts bookshelves that's maybe from the 20's. There's two more in this room. That's an old humidor with the red poppy painted on it. Smells like tobacco. And some beautiful old books, Purple. Not sure why I buy them even. I bought a couple more this summer. Alot have signatures. Were gifts and dated. A hair ribbon is in one, somewhere. A book meant something to these people. It was knowledge, entertainment, religion. It was a thing of importance back then.

📚Review: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Let me start off by saying that this is one of my favorite books and I cannot recommend it enough. The Book Thief chronicles the story of Liesel, a young German girl sent with her brother to live with foster parents in the face of WWII.
The story is told through the point of view of Death, who reveals himself in several instances of collecting the souls of those passing during the war, including Leisel’s brother’s. When she and her mother are burying him, Leisel surreptitiously steals a book from one of the grave diggers, even though she can’t read. Though it’s contents are morbid, Leisel finds herself clinging to it as she suffers from painful flashbacks of her brother’s death. This is what plants the seed in her love for books.
Leisel bonds with her foster father when he teaches her how to read and this opens up a new world for her to explore, and when her town holds one of their notorious book burnings, Leisel steals another book. In the basement of their house, they color the walls with words as Liesel explores meaning and writing.
Soon, a Jew in hiding named Max arrives at the house because Leisel’s foster father has promised to protect him, and Max and Liesel develop an unlikely friendship.
This story is filled with love, friendship in the face of adversity, and tragedy. It’s another unique perspective into WWII. It has poignant moments involving empathy even in the face of fear, and perseverance even after the most disheartening and heartbreaking losses. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves emotional books and could cope with the losses that you feel is they’re your own.
5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

New books in shop in Salem! In the mood for some classic Hawthorne!? Well, you'll know where to go if you are... 😎📚
Forever my favourite book!
is like one of the very first short novels I've read and I nevergot tired of it or forgot about it... I loved this book and still do. So much that I decided to keep this old copy from the 1997 (it used to belong to my step granddad I 🤔 )
So I ONLY realised today(when I was unpacking) that, apparently my husband also has a copy of the same book from when he was a teenager and it also happens to be one of his favourite books... What a coincidence guys 😂... Like we are total opposites but the things we have in common are weird like this!..... It's really a beautiful book, especially for the children! ❤️
