A couple questions about this one, but one question that always pops up a lot for a few of these trips is “How do you find these places?” I noticed when I was getting a walk up permit that they only allow 10 permits per day, we were there first thing in the morning and 6 were already gone! We also only saw 2 other people the entire trek. So I get why it’s not glorified like Big Pine lakes, but this little hidden gem was just as gorgeous. You just got to do your research, google, IG, Facebook a lot of the times other people will gladly tell you where, and drop some knowledge on you before you go, the network of people I’ve met doing all these trips have been more than friendly, they’re almost eager to tell you about it. Once I find a place that catches my eye, I’ll spend a couple days researching it before I go. Do I need a permit? How far is the trek? Any special gear I need? Which friend should/can I bring (😂)? One thing is for certain, I’m definitely NEVER 100% prepared when I go, Nature is unpredictable, and so is life. You just have to get the courage to JUST GO! Just go, and figure it out on the way, that’s part of the adventure sometimes! Be safe and resourceful, but first step is to get the courage to Go.
“Say goodnight and go” 🎼
Knowing something is almost complete is hard to recognize and accept. When this show wrapped, it was the hardest thing to let go. But when I let go, and allowed new doors to open and new chapters! .
When walking up this staircase for the last time (which led into a very dead end of just a piece of plywood, nothing fancy, not even a second level, a dead ended with a stair around the wall corner, nothing glamorous), it was sad to know that the show was over, but it brought joy to knowing that I was able to be a part of it. It was a double edged sword, the bitter with the sweet.
Why is it so hard to let go of something good? It’s because we have found joy in it and we are not ready to “let it go”. However, holding onto it too long only slows us down instead of allowing that chapter to end and let another one open. It will always being happiness to us, but we must allow the other times to bring the happiness it’s meant to bring us as well. Our life’s story is many chapters. It’s our job to let them be written!
