Oh hey, Monday!! ☕️ You’re not so bad now that I’m in control of my own schedule. 💃🏻 I’ve been sitting in the same spot (well, other than bathroom breaks and a break just long enough to grab some lunch) since before 8am and I couldn’t be happier. My laptop has smoke coming out of it (ok, not really) from all the work I’ve been doing on it today, and my brain just won’t stop with the ideas and plans. 👩🏻💻💨
Every single day, I am humbled that I get to do this for a living. Never give up on your dreams, y’all. Cause dreams do come true if you put in the work. ✨
warm sun sounds nice right now
Just released the dates for the February Mini Shoots, and I'm so excited!! Honestly, the best compliment I have ever received from a couple, was that they left their session feeling more connected and in love than when they arrived. THAT is why I love this job. I am so passionate about Love and marriage, and being able to step into your love story, even if just for moment, is a huge honor for me! There are only 2 dates available to book a mini session, so snag yours while you can and come hang out with me!!
Just looking at these two brightens my day! Hope you’re all having a good Monday! 💕
It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was spending hundreds on online education for photography. I replaced school work with photography research. What gear should I buy? How the F does Lightroom work? How to shoot in manual mode? How to be a family photographer? How to shoot weddings? Scrolling on Pinterest to find poses. Spending hours on google trying to figure out how to make it all legal. Spending thousands on workshops and mentorships. The first two years were exhausting. I cried a lot. I didn’t understand how to turn a passion into a career, but I trudged on and here I am. I have the career that I was striving for. I’m making enough money for my family, I am passionate about what I do. If you are in a place where you want to move forward with your photo business, get feedback, learn a lot, and make friends, I encourage you to check out my next workshop over at @retreatyoselfxo.
If you are ready to work hard and bet on yourself, fill out the email list form to be the first to know when applications go live TOMORROW. There are only 5 spaces for attendees and I am so excited to love on every one of you who will attend. Not to mention, @bearrootsfloral
is going to be with me to create the most insane shoots, and @jesscartphotos
will be there to keep me sane and pour drinks and make us all laugh. I have such a wonderful team. I am so honored. Can’t wait for May 3rd ✨🥂
Take your babe on a road trip to west Texas. Missin’ this quirky town - I even named my Presets after Marfa, Mystery Lights, and El Cosmico
Go shawty, it’s MY birthday 🎁 like whaaaaat?! Sunnier times ☀️ I feel like Oregon’s Winter has been going on forever!
May the sunshine fall warmly on your face & all the promises of the future 💕
Take me back to Arizona 🌵
The second Alyssa stepped out of the car wearing a denim jumper, I knew this session was going to kickass!
Earlier that morning she had messaged me to tell me that her fiancé had hurt his foot pretty bad and they might have to cancel, but Rick said heck no and powered through it. He climbed on rocks, spun around in a forest of Joshua trees and threw Alyssa on his back. He is a trooper for sure! But I mean UGHHH just look at these 😭 I’m in love with their love!
Once again thank you to @instagram
for bringing us together. I am so excited to see where their love story takes them!
Throwing it back to this more than perfect fall day with one of my favorite people and her man today. On another note: I’ve spent half if today in a hamam & sauna with this gal and didn’t open my laptop once!
Frick I have no idea when the last time was that I felt this relaxed! *thankful*
I'm obsessed with this dress! Adding movement in my engagement shoots brings out personality and in this case...fire! Corey and Kelly were absolute legends. Love it.
snow cuddles are a thing, right?!
Anyone else love a man who can cook? 🙋🏻♀️ My husband has starting doing more of the cooking (and by more I mean he cooks for our family on the daily these last few weeks) and I can’t tell you how much I love and appreciate it. ✨💕
last night’s engagement session in the mountains. so stoked for their wedding in september!!!♥️
Would you guess that this dress was $27 on Amazon? BECAUSE IT WAS😭 I love a good bargain.
If you would have told me about a year and a half ago that my biggest disappointment in a week would come from not being able to make it to church, I would have probably called you crazy. But finding my church @centralhenderson
and following Jesus has changed so much inside of me and has started improving so much in my day to day life. My family, my relationship, my views and even my business. True faith and trust are two things I don’t think I’d ever had before and oh my, they make everything better, especially in the hard times.
Ps. This had to be the cutest little property in Sequoia!
the sweetest mother-son moment at the altar.♥️
Who else likes pinning money on the newlyweds during their dollar dance?! 💸
Picture taken during sunset for Mary and Miguel’s outdoor barn wedding.
Me: “Make whatever face you want, I’m taking a photo of your hands”
Bride: “Oh, okay. I thought you were taking a picture of my crotch”
How 90% of my morning conversations with a bride go 🤷♀️
See my previous post for more on this dress 😍

What is an elopement?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Elopement used to mean things like: shame, shotgun wedding, disapproval, and so many other negative terms.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now? It means things like love, intent, intimate, adventure, real, personal, unique. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
An elopement doesn’t have to be a truly unplanned, last minute event. You can invite a few fam/friends, and plan in advance if you want. Heck, I’m already booking 2020 elopements (holler at me, friends). Elopements now represent a couple doing something that truly represents them, instead of a traditional wedding that may not sound like the most fun idea to the couple.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So the idea of having a huge wedding not giving you the good type of butterflies?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Snowy weekends are for hot yoga and lovers 🔥
SWIPE >>> Oregon in the winter vs Utah in the winter! This is what I came home to and I’m not even mad.
This lady has been very influential in my business this last year. I have appreciated how real she is, in her Facebook group, and just in general. She literally gave us all her tips and tricks, and her advice.
Seriously if you’re thinking about doing any sort of education with a photographer, it’s an investment, but seriously her Facebook group is SO worth it.
I got to meet her for the first time on Friday, and she scheduled these amazing shoots all day, and I am just so thankful.
Thanks for inspiring me, Andie.❤️

Michael and Kristen’s wedding at Moli’i Garden at @kualoaranch
this weekend was one for the books!
Michael kept saying over and over again that he didn’t deserve Kristen, while she kept thanking him for loving her just the way she was!
Kristen’s mother officiated the wedding, and I had trouble keeping my tears in while they said their I Do’s on this beautiful day!

All the rain we’ve been getting in the Bay Area the past few weeks have really brought out the greens in nature, and I am here. for. it.
Last night’s engagement session may have ended with a downpour, but we sure took advantage of all those lush colors.
So our church has been teaching on a series about Sabbath and yesterday was the 3rd week. They emphasize practices in each series and break it down in a way that you can apply it personally.
Jimmy and I started actively having a Sabbath day each week and I can’t begin to express how life giving and soul giving it’s been! Now I know we don’t all share the same beliefs and practices so I’ll explain this a bit in case you’re like “What the heck is she talking about?” Sabbath is known as a day of rest and if you’re like me and the billions and trillions of people on this earth, you don’t get true rest weekly, if ever. Biblically, Sabbath is mentioned multiple times and it’s shown as a gift given to us.
Growing up, the idea of Sabbath was twisted. It was taken very strictly and honestly wasn’t very life giving. It was a set of rules set for Sunday and then Monday rolled around and we were just as exhausted going into the new week. 🤦♀️ True Sabbath is learning what gives you rest. The kind of rest that leads to delight, because that’s what God intended it for. It’s a time to be quiet, to build relationships, to slow the pace and to grow closer to the Lord. We live in such a go go go society that we’ve sadly forgotten what it really means to rest.
Ok, so now you’re like “well, what does it look like exactly?” First of all, it’s going to look different for every single person and if you have questions, I’m all ears so DM me. For Jimmy and me, we’ve had our quiet time in our Bibles, we played board games, we drank beer, we stayed away from all technology, we made apple chips, did yoga, etc. It’s still a new practice for us and each week changes up, but I wanted to share because I’ve been really enjoying going into Monday feeling refreshed in my mind and spirit and I want that for you too 💚 Happy Monday friends!

If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes, only then would you realize how special you are to me 🖤
This weather is crrrrazy. Stuck at home and my sister suggested we go have a snowball fight and sled- but it’s a little too cold for me. 🛷
I miss it being warm outside. Winter is my least favorite season of them all 😬
Still dreaming about this romantic shoot in Central Park last fall. I’m coming back to New York in a few weeks and opening up two days, February 3 and 4, for couple and family sessions! If you want to book a session, send me an email through the link in my profile!
Hellooooo! I am in love with this picture of me and Brenton taken by @ky.rogowski
after we got done taking a session of them at the hot pots. Just wanted to throw it on here because we are so thankful for all the opportunities we get to meet amazing people and other photographers. Everyone has so much talent and we have such a fun time doing what we love. This year we really want to involve ourselves more in our social media rather than be just our pictures. We are both so young and arn’t taken as seriously for our age but we work sooo hard and try to give the best experience to our clients. We love all you guys and are thankful for your support everyday! We are super excited for what’s to come and to see how will will grow this year. Whooooo. Thanks for reading all this (‘: you guys are the best ahaha. 💏
Kayla’s dress was worn by both her mother and grandmother. A few alterations was all it needed. It looked like it was made just for her ♥️ I have never seen anything so special or delicate. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room once she slipped it on.
Traditional or not - do what feels right on your day ✨
Yesterday, I watched my childhood best friend marry the man of her dreams. Watching it all from behind the camera was SURREAL ♥️ I had all the 🦋 around yesterday. It was my first winter wedding, the forecast was showing scattered flurries and -14, I had no clue if the bridal party would go outside or if my camera could even handle the temperature, and given the time of year I knew we weren’t going to have much daylight 😓 The truth is, I get nervous before every wedding. But knowing the bride on a personal level, and having a running list of concerns was a little nauseating 😂
But the day was perfect. Brad & Kayla got married surrounded by loved ones and that’s exactly what they set out to do ♥️ While anxiousness can push us to do our best, it’s also really uncomfortable 😬 What I learned yesterday, and in the days before, is that there a lot of things that are simply out of our control. Stressing about them doesn’t make you feel more prepared. But trusting that the universe has your back and that everything will work out can help ease the nerves.
Nick kept reminding me that every time before this when I worried about similar things, it ALL worked out. And he was right. It wasn’t always in the way I had wanted. Sometimes it was crappy. Sometimes it was even better than I had imagined. But it was all okay. The world didn’t fall apart.
So thank you, to Kayla & Brad. Thank you for trusting me to document such a special day. Thank you for (unknowingly) pushing me outside my comfort zone. And thank you for braving -14 weather and making it look SO.DAMN.GOOD 🔥♥️
Do you know what’s cuter than a groom and his best bud 🐶? Nothing. The answer is nothing 😭♥️
