Staying up all night and experiencing the Super Blood Wolf Moon eclipse was something out of this world.
A group of us walked around the poorest part of Hong Kong in Kowloon with a local to learn about how wildly unaffordable Hong Kong is and learned the below:
• Hong Kong is statically the most unaffordable city in the world • One in five people live below the poverty line • Many people live in subdivided rooms, cages and even coffins in order to live in the city
• Even though people are extremely poor, there is virtually no crime and homelessness
Super Blood Wolf Moon would be a great band name.
Snows been good, but I like climbing granite too. 📷 A few pitches up at Gate Buttress this summer.
Sometimes the forest plays tricks on your eyes.
Lights not always good for photos, but it’s still good for sending. New friend Justin gets the flash on Swirls.
Prickly pears and moody sunsets. Desert life is too good.

Will you be watching tonight?
A little different vibe then the recent run of surf shots. Occasionally I get out of the ocean to take photos of landscapes, and other interesting things. This composite shot is one I took during the 2015 event.
The eclipse happens tonight and begins at 7:33pm PST. Hope everyone had a great weekend and is able to get out and enjoy this amazing event. 🙌🏼

For those who don’t yet know, I’m off again! Two years ago, I caught my first glimpse of Everest and since then I’ve been trying to catch my breath. Partly because I’m out of shape, mostly because of the awe-inspiring experience I’ve had on every peak since. Everest may not be on the agenda just yet, but in a few short weeks I’ll be on my way back to the Himalayas to climb and explore. I’ll do my best to share and blog (coming soon!) the adventure ahead. 🇨🇦 —> 🇮🇳🇳🇵🇨🇳

Fall colors in a soybean field.
FINALLY had my first hike of 2019!! Feels so good to be out in nature.
Haleakala Crater as the fog rolls in from the Northshore.
Just crazy how the fog would roll in.

Big Bend Ranch State Park isn’t affected by the government shut down. Plan an extra day into your itinerary so you can visit both the National and State park.
Hong Kong has 7.6 million people living in the city and I’m pretty sure half of them live in this building. (The real amount of people that live in this apartment complex is around 60,000. It’s insane)
Sometimes the best beta is just to give the rock a big hug. “Hugging” it out on Swirls at HP40. 📸: my new friend @shelby_trike
