💬Another day another lunchbox! Bay isn’t the biggest fan of sandwiches, which is why she doesn’t have them often, and when she does, I use cute cutters to keep her interested.

My little ones love these sorts of oat bars and they’re great for convenience but I wanted to make my own (cheaper, healthier, more tasty!). These oat, sultana and banana bars are lovely. I’m going to pop them in the freezer with baking paper between each one and take out the night before for daily snacks!
- soak half a cup of sultanas in just-boiled water for 20 minutes then drain and blitz in the food processor. Set aside.
- whizz 3 cups of oats in the food processor.
- put all the following into a bowl: blended oats, 1 tsp baking powder, 2 (or 3 small) ripe mashed bananas, 2 eggs, 90g butter melted, the blended sultanas.
- Mix together and push into a lined baking tin. Bake at 170’C for 25 mins. Cut into bars then allow to cool before removing.

Getting into the habit of bringing your own containers with you is a real game changer. Going plastic free is easier when you've got your own alternative already in the bag! And don't be scared of being awkward - some people will say no to putting your order in your container, but many won't, and you won't know until you try.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The other, probably more common way for using boxes is to bring your own food with you when you're on the go - packed lunches for school or work, snacks for a day out, and salad boxes for your healthy lunch. And stainless steel is much more sustainable choice, plus it won't ever leech into your food! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Today's lunch for my gluten free, dairy-free, peanut-free duo.
A veg- tomatoes and carrots
A fruit- apple
Protein and carb for snack- hummus and bean and seed crackers and avocado
Protein and carb for lunch- eggs and gf crackers
Treaties- kashi almond bar and mini macaroons.
I also supply fun napkins. Sparkly unicorns for v and vangogh for g (I made them today cause we woke up late) but usually the kids look almost as neat cause the boxes are so helpful. Today, frozen avocado bits keep sections cold...and i put little plastic lids from other little containers as dividers between the crackers and eggs before i closed them up. GF and DF and PF lunches have always been a challenge!!!! These boxes surely help! #gfkids #dfkids #packedlunch

These yogurt parfaits are perfect on the go or when the kids are hangry and need a snack ASAP! You can pack them with super healthy goodies like hemp hearts, chia seeds, fruit, granola and.... whatever else you think is healthy.... (sorry morning brain is still in full effect here 🤦♀️)
Here is my combo
🍓Bottom layer: frozen strawberries and mango
🍓Middle layer: plain 4% organic yogurt
🍓Top layer: honey, bee pollen, hemp hearts and chunks of pecans
All done, now put the lid on and store in the fridge for quick yummy meals or snacks. Insert mom dance 💃 🙌🏻
Trying to keep it light for lunch now that the cheese/baguette smorgasbord of Paris is over. I’m packing smoked salmon salad this week with tomatoes, avocados, and red onions. A little garlic salt, lemon, and olive oil is a nice dressing. Balsamic vinegar works as a replacement acid if you don’t like lemon. The salmon and avocado is a little reminiscent of sushi, which I love. This is a great candidate for a salad jar because the ingredients need to stay separate until you are ready to eat. It’s healthy but still fulfills the lunchtime hangries. What are you eating for lunch?

While Little A has teeth popping up, A is losing them 😂 He lost his first tooth last night jumping on the sofa 🤦🏽♀️ the one right next to it will probably come out very, very soon with how wobbly it is. Lunch in under a minute. 🤗 . I'm quite often rushing around 😂...so I usually keep stuff in the fridge that is fast and easy for lunch , snacks etc. oatcakes are brilliant and come in those individual packets inside the box. I always have some form of cooked lean protein whether it's from a supermarket or something I cooked the night before plus ready washed spinach and usually little snack peppers which are 3 for £1.50 from Lidl. Grab a plate , get the stuff out the fridge , pile it on 😂 . Low GI wholegrain carbs from the oatcakes, fat free dairy from the cottage cheese means calcium ,plus vit c, beta carotene, vit b6 , folate , fibre, crunch and flavour from the peppers spinach and asparagus, flavourful lean protein from the smoked chicken and extra flavour from American mustard. As parents we want to give our kids the best but we also don’t want to be so over the top it backfires. Lunchables are a popular item and because I think they’re gross my kids often complained “but mooom everyone else gets them” My solution? Make them! The most important part is they still get to put it all together and eat w their hands! The one pictured is pizza themed. I use honey wheat pita bread, pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. We’ve also done:⠀
❤️Peanut butter, 🍎 slices and raisins on Carmel cakes⠀
🧡Turkey or chicken breast with cut up block 🧀 and crackers (many variations of crackers and cheese!)⠀
💛Tuna or chicken salad with crackers or 🥨 to dip (or veggies like 🥕 & celery)⠀
💚 Turkey hotdogs with cut up block 🧀 ⠀
💙 Taco meat (ground turkey) with cheese and Tostito scoops ⠀
💜 Hard boiled egg or egg salad w crackers⠀
After creating the base (protein and grain) I always add a veggie and fruit to each meal if it doesn’t have one. Best part is you can eat them too!⠀
