took a stroll down the coast to Pago Pago & came across these two rock islands. It is called Fatu Ma Futi, legend says that Fatu & Futi were a couple who sailed from Upolu, looking for Tutuila but their canoe sank & they transformed into these two rock islands. #fatumafuti #pagopago #americansamoa #mysamoa #tutuila

ILHAM PUBLIC LECTURE: GOENAWAN MOHAMAD “In front of these images, one asks oneself: is the poem a picture or the picture a poem?’’
Goenawan Mohamad, renowned poet, playwright and public intellectual, delivered ILHAM’s fifth Public Lecture to a crowd of over 100 people.
The founder of Tempo magazine in Indonesia spoke about how art and literature have the power to remove frames — such as identity (and identity politics) — that only serve to trap and confine.
The Rilke quotation above is taken from his paper, “An Aesthetic of Framing and Deframing:
Notes on Takdir Alisyahbana and Latiff Mohidin”. Through these cultural icons, Goenawan examined “the artistic, literary and intellectual cross-fertilization between Indonesia and Malaysia”. __
Latiff Mohidin: Pago Pago (1960 - 1969), ILHAM’s current exhibition, runs till 30 Dec and is presented in collaboration with the @nationalgallerysingapore
and the @centrepompidou

They say the sun is sometimes eclipsed by a moon // you know I don't see you when she walks in the room
"Locust wind, lift me up. I'm just a prisoner in a reign of love."
"And in the end, we lie awake and we dream of making our escape."
"They are turning my head out to see what I'm all about. Keeping my head down to see what it feels like now. But I have no doubt, one day the sun will come out."
"Do you ever get the feeling that you’re missing the mark?"
"Stars in heaven align..."
"Oh, they say you can see your future inside a glass of water, the riddles and the rhymes.
Will I see heaven in mine?"
"He heard you could see your future inside a glass of water, the ripples and the lines.
And he asked, will I see heaven in mine?"
