Movie Name: Parchi
“Not only it's painful to watch, Parchi is dull and boring. Filled with lame jokes and terrible acting.”
SharpRatings: 2 - #Terrible
Probably one of worst or duller Pakistani movie I have ever seen. The whole concept is childish and boring. #Parchi
might have your attention with eye-grabbing, colorful marketing and handsome cast but story isn’t where it excels. Parchi largely tries what #NaMaloomAfraad
did so enigmatically great using socio-commentary and situation as basis of their story they were able to give one of best comedies in industry right now. Parchi tries similar, recently in Pakistan, well mostly Karachi. Extortion money was lit, parchments were delivered anonymously with a bullet and amount of money that was supposed to be delivered or less bullet was your next destination. On a light note filmmakers use that element for Parchi but fail miserably as runtime flows you will notice movie has nothing to do with these Parchi. The main premise of group of middle-class friends trying to raise money for their gang-related ordeals isn’t something new you might have seen such plot in movies like #DelhiBelly
. Where humor was their great trait in those movies Parchi could mimic same level of comedy. The jokes come flat, most of them are either seen before or heard. The film tries to hard to be creative yet all the characters come short as well. I liked how movie tried to put strong female on poster and main plot yet even #HareemFarooq
comes short, no thanks to the writing behind the movie. Overall even at such short runtime the film feels long, the songs don’t help either.
