3 bananas peeled chopped,frozen
2/3 cup cacao powder
2/3 cup cashews soaked overnight
2 tbsp hemp protein powder
1/2 cup almond milk
2/3 cup coconut cream (the hard portion of a can of high fat coconut milk)
1/4 cup healthy chocolate sauce
Make the chocolate sauce:
1. Blend up 2/3 cup cacao powder, 1/3 cup maple syrup, 1/3 cup coconut oil. This makes about 1 cup. @greensmoothiegourmet
use 1/4 cup in this ice cream recipe, and save the rest in the refrigerator for other recipes or to blend into smoothies.
Make the nicecream:
1. Blend up bananas, cashews, cacao, milk, coconut cream and protein powder in a high-speed blender. Add more milk if needed to allow blending but retain creamy texture.
2. Stir in a ripple of chocolate sauce. Don't blend it in, you want to fold it in so ripples of chocolate sauce are visible.
3. Serve immediately for soft-serve.
If you want to make it harder texture, pour into a parchment-lined loaf pan, and chop up into chunks and blend smooth every 30 minutes over the course of 4 hours. Seems like a lot of work, but you will be rewarded with the texture close to traditional ice cream.
Or you could use an ice cream churn and follow the machine's instructions.
