Mouthwatering Meatballs made from scratch 👌
Perfect with any tomato pasta sauce, served over your favourite pasta noodles. Use the leftovers to make meatball sandwiches!
▪️Approximately 1lb of ground veal (you can also use ground beef or ground sirloin), it’s all up to you!
▪️1/4 cup finely chopped onion
▪️2 tablespoons of minced garlic
▪️1 tablespoon of seasoning salt or vegetable salt
▪️1 teaspoon of black pepper
▪️1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
▪️1/3 cup of milk
▪️1/3 cup of parsley, finely chopped
▪️1/3 cup of parmesan cheese
▪️1/3 cup of breadcrumbs
▪️1 large jar/can of your favourite tomato pasta sauce
▪️2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
🔹Set aside a large plate to place meatballs on once rolled (your hands will be dirty later!)
🔹Place ground meat in large bowl. Add eggs, onion and garlic. Mix well.
🔹Add seasoning/vegetable salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, milk, parsley, parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs. Mix around a few times with large spoon. Set spoon aside.
🔹Roll up your sleeves and place one hand in the bowl and start mixing the ingredients all together very well, to ensure they are eventually distributed in the ground meat.
🔹Scoop out approximately one heaping tablespoon full of ground meat and with both hands roll and form into ball shapes. Place on plate. Repeat until all meat is rolled balls.
🔹On stovetop, in large/deep skillet or pan, heat olive oil and reduce to medium heat. Add all meatballs to pan.
🔹Cook meatballs uncovered for 10 minutes on each side.
🔹Reduce heat to low-medium, cover and cook meatballs for 5 more minutes. If required, add an additional splash of olive oil.
🔹Remove pan from burner and remove all meatballs from pan on to a clean plate or bowl.
🔹Scrape off/discard all residue and drippings from pan (do not wash pan), saving just one tablespoon of drippings.
🔹Place pan back on burner. Add your favourite jar/can of tomato pasta sauce. Add tablespoon of drippings to sauce and give it a good mix. Immediately add all meatballs to the sauce in the pan. Cover and let meatballs simmer in sauce for 10 minutes to bring out all flavours. Serve and enjoy!
