my baby sister is eight and had recently become very anti-india at this young age, probably because of the kind of students she shares her school with. we, as a family have spent long to try to remove such sentiments from her and cultivate love in her so that she doesn't see india as a "dushman" any further, as we really don't believe in meaningless hatred towards the neighbours. we have been somewhat successful but once every while something comes up that convinces her that india really is a dushman, ranging from contoversies like swara bhaskar's "failed state" overacting to such "news" videos. i have been trying to calm her irrational hatred towards india, which i believe is very toxic for her future, when @zeerajasthannews
's video made it's way to my sister's hands via one of mom's whatsapp groups, destroying my efforts once more. she is now literally sure that india has "never wanted good for us and has always wished evil upon us" and now i'll have to start all over again.
while i understand that the work of a private news channel doesn't dictate the wish of the entire nation, she doesn't and this is enough for her to develop despise towards human beings she's not even met once in her life.
i want to ask zee rajasthan and sanjay yadav vishish, what do i tell my sister now? how do i convince my sister differently when you have got all this hatred roaming around all over social media? do you ever think before creating content? yes, pakistan might be suffering with a water crisis, but honestly if we were to switch positions, this isn't what i would have done. i honestly don't consider indian people my enemies, but even if i did i wouldn't have wished such an ordeal on them, let alone celebrate it?! shame on you, zee rajasthan news and everyone involved in creating this trash bulletin. you are destroying the mindset of many more children than you can imagine.
i don't know about that side of the border, but here on this side, we don't want any more meaningless conflicts. we want change. unfortunately, change can only be achieved if everyone wants it. one-sided efforts aren't enough, which is probably why i'm failing.
