This year Nawryz eve comes up with 5-day-long celebrations throughout all the city of Astana. Main squares and parks have been trasformed into amusement areas and citizens are ready to bade farewall to the winter and greet the new season. People dress in folkloristic costumes, enjoy rides on high altybakans (Kazakh swings), play traditional games and musical instruments, learn about falcon hunting and other ancient trades of their grandfathers, visit yurts where kind hosts treat them with an abundance of home-made dishes (all for free).
The future is not what gives you fear it’s repeating the past.

What is your big vision for your life?
Does anyone else feel like there is this pressure to be able to call out exactly who you are and what you want to do forever, in an eloquent elevator pitch, with slideshow and PowerPoint of your five year plan? Just me? 😅
As someone who is making a "career" out of an adventurous life, I can never quite seem to nail down an explanation that fits in a LinkedIn profile.
"Makes videos for food"
"Writes stuff down"
I remember sitting with someone in Griffith park and saying "I know this is going to sound childish, but I just want to create beautiful things...and hopefully figure out a way to get paid along the way."
Luckily I was with someone who had eyes enough to see the vision I had for myself (without laughing).
But the point is, not everyone is going to see it. Some days, you won't even see it, so it's all the more important to surround yourself with people who can remind you of your birthright: to be more than a career.
You're born with such a light in you; to confine it to "what you do to make money" would be a shame to the universe that made you.
