Something I love about the spiritual practice of yoga is not posting fun inversions on social media, etc, it’s how the practice is completely your own and reflects where you are in life, at any moment. It’s so special. .
Are you relaxed and peaceful? Are you tense and exhausted? (Like I am in this video) It helps you gauge yourself and understand your life experience in that moment. .
It is yours and yours alone. .
I was introduced to yoga in 7th grade as part of a STEP morning program initiated in Los Angeles. So for 12 years my practice has ebbed and flowed, and I gained knowledge as time passed. .
Yoga is a physical, mental/introspective, and spiritual practice that spans Hinduism and Buddhism (and probably some others I have yet to learn about). Regardless it is what you make it. .
The reason for this post is this: I read an article by @kinoyoga
and it bothered me. Basically there is conflict between the business side of yoga and the actual practice, which is to be expected when $$ is involved.
Something is always taken away when $$ is involved, but if that’s how you make a living, of course it should be utilized to its fullest extent.
If you read this far, I just hope you always consider why it is you do what you do, and how you do it. No matter what our professions, hobbies, etc are, “Live as you wish, not as you should.” Try and stay true to values that make the world a better place and foster peace. Regardless of if you are an individual or a corporation. .
Peace and, I think, happiness comes when our lives reflect our hearts.
