25th May 2018: As well as growing ranunculus in the glasshouse, this year we’ve tried some in the cold frames and some out in the garden borders. They survived the winter weather, but needed protection from plant-chomping wildlife. They’ve been getting so much attention from our visitors over the last couple of weeks who love seeing them up close. It’s lovely to overhear peoples comments & conversations about them. ‘It’s like a cross between a peony & a rose’ I heard someone say yesterday. As a bonus they came into flower just as the tulips went over (more by luck than design), thank you ranunculus! And thank you @italian_ranunculus
for the opportunity to grow these beauties.
We all work together as a family, with the other members of our team, to run the different parts of the business.
Jim oversees the farm and office, and Gill deals with finance and administration. Ed manages our shop in Bakewell and Tom manages the butchery at the farm and oversees the preparation of all the online orders.
This location continues to be in my top five of the Peak District National Park. High hills surrounded by great valleys. As well as some of the greatest landscapes the Peak District has to offer. This location is always fantastic For wildlife also. With that consistent sound of wild birds everywhere behind you.
Where is your favourite Peak District location? And why.

Pleasant walk through the lovely Chee Dale valley to get to the rocks. They might not look like much much but there is a lot of quality climbing packed in a small space. Happy to climb Cordless Madness 7c in a session, thanks to beta from @climbing_haydn.
