No, this isn’t Bavaria, it’s Bolsover Castle in North East Derbyshire 😍🏰
Did you know: although a Castle by name, the stunning building is actually a grand mansion built in the 1600s on the ground of a medieval fort ⚔️
Built to impress, the English Heritage site is situated on a rocky ridge with awesome views of the Scarsdale Valley below 👀
In the town centre, you can browse independent shops and grab a bite to eat before exploring pretty nature reserves - built on the sites of former coal mining areas 🌿

Waiting for this dire weather to shoo so I can spend my last couple of weeks with my fur family before I say farewell for another winter. On the bright side they will no doubt be making the most of this weather gorging on Earthworms and fattening up for the long winter ahead.

📍Monsall Head, Peak District
The weather may have taken a turn for the worse but you can still get some great views from certain points across the peaks 😍

"onward and upward" And in this week's life of a writer:
I had a very pleasant decline from a BBC2 pop-science presenter to endorse Deeper Realms (with a lovely encouragement to keep going, as more strong female characters are needed and the profile of women in STEM - paleeontology certainly counts - needs raising); I had an enquiry of whether a French language version of Unconfirmed Sighting was available via Instagram, Lines Ive posted have had a lot of likes on twitter and I've been exploring/working hard on printed versions of my existing work.
And I also watched Dr Who for the first time in nearly 2 decades.

Something a bit different to my usual feed 😊🐶
A blind photographer took a stroll through the deep dark woods. A fox saw the photographer and the photographer looked well not so good😂 .
Name that very good children’s book?
Anyway after a very wet and windy weekend due to our Meteorological friend storm Callum. Here is a peaceful and calming Image to start your Monday morning. Shot taken around the Longshaw estate. Slightly off the main path stepping ever so gently into the forest. With the sound of Dead leaves crunching under my feet. As well as the surrounding sound of leaves falling down from the trees above every now and again. Hitting the ground with a large crack. The singing song from a group of blackbirds and Robbins in the trees around me. The initial chill upon my face from my gentle stroll. Soon warming as the Sun broke through the trees. Luckily my tripod was slung upon my shoulder. With camera attached to go. A Step to the left to improve the position followed by a step back to widen the scene. Here is that magical moment of which the light beams from the trees it in my face. As with a warm gift from above. Come with me on My stroll through the deep dark woods to brighten up your Monday morning.
