I remember that moment when I felt like I had no friends.
I had just graduated from grad school and had moved to a town where I knew exactly one person.
It was the first time in 7 years my BFF wasn't 2 minutes away.
I missed my fellow #publichealthers
I wondered if I remembered how to make friends as an adult.
Because dang, that can be hard.
Anyone else feel that way?
Especially since I don't have children, I struggled to find ways to connect with other women.
Fast forward to today, and I feel like I'm surrounded by a tribe of like minded women.
Women who empower each other.
Women who support each other.
Women who have become my very good friends.
I'm so very grateful for this community.
Not only has it allowed me to befriend people I never would have met, it has given me the courage to simply reach out and meet other people.
I no longer think it's weird to say, "Hey, I think you're cool. I see you also like Harry Potter, fitness, and talking politics. Want to be friends?" It's like the playground but for adults.
My friends are the family I choose, and I'm so freaking grateful for the ones I've met on this journey.
Because who doesn't want to be surrounded by women who are fun, funny and won't judge you if you eat peanut butter straight from the jar?

I have been having the most amazing workouts lately. I used to focus on cardio based workout programs, but now I’m focusing on strength training and I absolutely love it. It’s hard not to smile this big when you’re this happy 🖤 Happy Monday loves!
Gross looking but ohhhhh so good! I wasn’t sure what to add to my food for the day since I had to work till 9pm. I needed something easy. This is my steel cut oats, protein powder and some peanut butter. Blueberries added too! I wasn’t sure how it was going to taste but I needed to meet my macros for the day. I did it!

😋Set your week up for success with these healthy Breakfast Egg Muffins! They are a staple in my house! Such an easy grab and go snack & and last up to 3/4days in the refrigerator and a couple months in the freezer. To reheat, pop the frozen egg muffin right into the microwave.. Add any veggies you love!
I added 1 cup lightly packed baby spinach — chopped
3/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper — about 1 small pepper
3/4 cup finely diced green bell pepper — about 1 small pepper
6 large eggs
4 large egg whites
1/4 teaspoon salt
Splash of garlic Pinch ground black pepper — or cayenne pepper if you like a little kick!
1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese or avocado to top it off!
Preheat to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a standard 12-cup muffin tin with nonstick spray or use muffin cups. Divide the spinach, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, among the cups (they will be about two-thirds of the way full) then pour your egg mix over the top. Bake for 25- 28 min! Enjoy!

Pumpkin seed, cashew, Brazil, almond, hemp, macadamia, hazelnut, walnut. I spent my whole life picking myself apart, especially this last year. Instead of looking at what I was thankful for and pieces of me that were great- I was negative and constantly comparing myself wishing I looked the opposite of everything I was.⠀
Not ever picture I take is going to be perfect. For instant, I know I have squinty eyes and chubby cheeks in the picture. But I also know while we were taking this I was having so much fun, loving the view, and am so blessed to even be able to do any of that!! There are people who would dream of being able to just simply walk, talk, and visualize and I was doing that PLUS much more.⠀
Often times people take for granted their own beauty and the life we are given. I told myself I would work on exactly that. Embracing what I am given, what I am, and all that I am thankful for!!! ⠀

Sitting here sipping my keto coffee and laughing to myself 😂 We haven’t had the best few nights of sleep. Our babes (still refuse to call them toddlers) are going through a little bit of a sleep regression. Totally normal, but you know how your find yourself thinking “dang I’m tired”? I was just thinking about that then started laughing because when they were newborn I use to pray for just an hour straight of sleep. Hahaha 😂 So when I find myself complaining now, I think back to that time and realize I don’t have it bad at all. Another plus is that I’m tired for a really great reason, my two miracle babies 💕 they are worth it all.
But I have to know, how much sleep did you use to pray for and when did your babes start sleeping through the night?
If you are in the stage where they are not sleeping at ALL. I’m sorry 😭 it gets better even though I know that doesn’t really help you right now. You got this momma!!

this weekend I managed to squeeze in some last-minute recipe testing before leaving for my trip tonight 😎 this peanut butter banana bread is SO delicious but waaay too crumbly, so will need to go back to the drawing board once i’m home!

Peanut butter & fig smoothie to start Monday. Needed an energy packed boost to get us through our run this morning.
1 heaped tsp of peanut butter
1 tbsp of chia seeds
1 tbsp of cacao nibs
Cover in plant milk and blend until smooth.
Top with cacao nibs for a bit of a crunch.
