🔸”I choose mountains because flat is boring. It’s like the kid in the play ground at school always wanting to be king of the castle. I think there is this innate desire in us to have an unobstructed view of what’s around us, being on top of a mountain (not in every situation) can give you that, as well as this still, calmness... you leave all the crap of the world behind and are free to focus on nothing but one foot in front of the other." 🏃🏻♂️// @glennmanchester

I'm happiest with a pack on my back and a trail beneath my feet...

When you are looking forward to the long weekend.
Happy Friday!! I unfortunately broke my foot on Sunday and won’t be able to hike for awhile! 😭 So please post all your adventures so I can live through all of yours!🧡🧡🧡
Sometimes we can get so focused on the little things that we miss the big things. This weekend, take time to stop, breathe, and focus on what’s most important: loving God and loving others.
Set out yesterday to have the first float of the year with @geometrywars
and while we did accomplish that a few other less satisfactory things happened too. I forgot my parks pass, I fell in the lake with my rain jacket on and to top it all off I lost my phone out of my pack side pocket. Spent most of today setting the new one up. Sometimes you just can't win. Here's a picture of a float that went much smoother from last year.
I’m so glad that I took the time to go listen to Jennifer Pharr Davis at the Fayetteville Public Library today! Her talk about hiking and endurance was such an inspiration to me, and I cannot wait to read her book! Plus, I learned that the father of #ultrarunning
is from right here in Arkansas.
Lifetime waterfall chasers 🤯
The road up until this point was not easy nor was the road ahead. At this time, my knee was giving me troubles from carrying a 17kg load (wayy too much) but then I look at pictures like this and am reminded of why I pushed through.

It took us 5 hours to get to the summit, weather was great and we were able to sit around and enjoy the view of the Cordillera Real.
I can’t describe the feeling, I think it was pure joy ✨
As usual, special thanks to @mateolarry
(sweetest most awesome guide ever) and @turismo_591
