Hear me now and hear me clearly. It is not about having: the perfect journal; the perfect pair of workout leggings; the perfect pen; or pencil; the perfect hair; the perfect lipstick; the perfect dress; the perfect morning routine; the perfect yoga teacher; the perfect recipe; the perfect partner; the perfect time; the perfect space; the perfect you.
None of these things are a requirement for beginning. All of them are excuse for not beginning.
Some clients are surprised when I call them out on their perfectionism, defensively claiming that they’re untidy or disorganised so how can they possibly be a perfectionist.
Perfectionism is about the struggle, the fight to be perfect but as it’s not possible, for ANYONE to achieve, the perfectionist finds themselves constantly dissatisfied, unhappy, even suffering with low mood as a result of their constant strive.
If you want to start something, you have to just do it. Don’t wait for anything, or anyone, or for the right time. Just do it. Now. You could even put down your phone right now and start?
