-Good morning! Once upon a time there was a record store in #Tehran
called " #Beethoven
" ..I was perhaps 9/10 when I heard her magical tune , #Respect
! Beethoven was a Mecca for #music
lovers on Pahlavi Ave. .. Didn't know English so didn't know what it means " to respect " ...A year later Alice , my cousins teacher from Pierce School in Brookline brought a few records to Tehran ! There was #JohnDenver
and indeed the queen herself, Aretha Franklin etc..
Something in her voice moved me , and moved me forever! When I finally arrived to America, I found a small church in Mattapan! I was the only white non-American girl (19'years old ) who moved, danced and clapped to the sound of #Gospel
Gospel did what Aretha did to my soul ! My broken one who had left home due to a revultion ! My friends didn't know ..No one knew where this young girl goes on Sunday mornings ! It was the soul!
Thank you for shaking my soul and teach me from the heart! Miss Franklin, from this #Iranian
woman to you , you are a true legend!
...You said it yourself my beloved " I sing to the realists, people who accepts it like it is "
With love of the heart of a 10 year old girl in Tehran ! Just like you said ....I didn't bitch ..I had no choice but to build my new life and move forward...
AND hell yeah , now I know what respect means !
No messing around lady!
