I know, it’s tough to believe a refined sugar free pecan pie could be better than the classic. But we promise, ditch the corn syrup and swap it out for @justdatesyrup. Prepare for a life changing bite of pie. Pecan Pie Filling as adapted from @seriouseats : 3 cups toasted pecans (2 cups chopped, 1 cup whole) 1 8.8 oz bottle of @justdatesyrup 4 tbsp unsalted butter 3 eggs beaten 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp kosher salt Whisk together melted butter and remaining ingredients. Fold in 2 cups of chopped pecans. Pour into pie crust of your choice and top with whole pecans. Bake pie for 40 minutes at 375, rotating halfway through. Those red yams (swipe to see) that I kept seeing in so many super markets beckoned to me so I had to do something about it. I did not find many recipes (ps. lazy) so I sort of winged this one. Here’s what I did. I halved the yams and kept the skin on. Mixed some oil + cumin + smashed corriander seeds + some white sesame + green chillies + salt. Poured this mix over the yams and coated them. Heated a pan, added some oil and a pinch of finely chopped garlic and gave it a toss. I then added these coated yams onto the pan, sauteed it for a minute and covered the pan. Occasionally, I checked on them, tossing them around a bit, sprinkling some water and adding a bit of chopped corriander. I turned off the heat once a fork went through the yams - I did not make mine too mushy but just cooked ( I guess you can cook longer if you like it mushy though you’d want to watch over it before it becomes one clump). The sad part is it loses all that gorgeous colour. Finally I topped it with a bit of lemon juice and fresh corriander. I liked it - though the yam does not have much taste or smell of its own. It takes the flavour of what you add. You could totally oven roast them in so many ways as well. I also made a yoghurt dip to go with them. I am just sort of happy I finally tried these.

Today is a cake kind of day ✨ And even if there is nothing in particular in your life to celebrate- it’s still a good day for a vegan double chocolate cake, isn’t it? 😋
Con pochi e semplici ingredienti, si possono rifare in casa delle barrette energetiche #senzaglutine con ripieno della vostra confettura preferita! Non contengono uova ma al loro posto ho utilizzato 2 cucchiai di burro di arachidi per "legare" insieme gli ingredienti e dare un retrogusto di arachide all'impasto. Ottime prima di un allenamento o da portare fuori per una merenda energetica, fatta in casa. 🤸‍♀️ Ingredienti per 9 barrette circa 1 tazza (180gr) fiocchi avena senza glutine 1 tazza (105gr) farina di mandorle o di avena senza glutine 1/2 tazza (70gr) sciroppo d'acero 50 gr olio di cocco sciolto 2 cucchiai burro di arachidi 100% Confettura a piacere Pizzico sale integrale Preriscaldare forno a 200°C. In un robot da cucina tritare grossolanamente per pochi secondi l'avena. Aggiungere la farina di mandorle ed un pizzico sale. Infine aggiungere sciroppo, olio di cocco e burro di arachidi. Frullare fino a quando risulta un composto oleoso. La consistenza deve "sgretolarsi" (simile ad un crumble). Foderare una teglia da forno quadrata 10 x 10 cm, coprirla con carta forno e versare 2/3 del composto, aiutandovi con le mani per compattarlo. Infornare a 170°C per 10 minuti (forno statico). Nel frattempo mettere all'interno di una padella antiaderente il composto restante e tostarlo per circa 1/2 minuti girandolo di tanto in tanto,a fiamma media. Estraete dal forno la teglia e lasciate completamente raffreddare. Aggiungere la vostra confettura preferita livellando bene su tutta la superficie ed infine ricoprire la superficie con il restante impasto tostato. Infornare nuovamente a 170°C per circa 20/25 minuti o finché la superficie delle barrette non risulterà dorata. Quando sarà pronto, lasciare completamente raffreddare. Con un coltello da cucina, tagliare le vostre barrette. Si conservano in un contenitore sigillato per massimo 1 settimana. ✨

• GIANT COOKIE • made with @tonyschocolonely_nl and it was amazing !!!!! #cookies 🍪🍪🍪Voici ma recette du cookie géant : Pour un moule à manquer: 110 g de beurre 150g de sucre roux (ou cassonade) 1 oeuf 210g de farine + 1/2 sachet de levure chimique 120 g de chocolat haché - blanc, lait et noir (ou smarties, kinder, caramel...) Préchauffer le four à 180°C. Dans un saladier, faire fondre le beurre puis ajouter le sucre et mélanger. Une fois que le mélange a refroidi, ajouter l'œuf et mélanger bien. Incorporer la farine avec la levure, mélanger jusqu'à obtenir une pâte bien lisse. Ajouter le chocolat, et mettre dans un moule avec papier sulfurisé au four pendant 17 minutes.

Does anyone else have a list of places where they would like to eat? Strangely my list never gets any shorter even though I love to eat out! I was so pleased to finally get to @smallbar_bristol last week with @kymgrimshaw to sample the @wingsdiner menu. Kym recommended I tried the chicken rice bowl - blue garlic rice, leaves, slaw topped with fried chicken, cheese and peanut sauce. It was my type of food, a bowl of amazing flavours that complimented each other perfectly. This was my first experience of blue rice! Street food I realize is always one thing that people across the world love. It doesn’t matter where you are from, there is always a fondness when you talk of street food and inadvertently become nostalgic. The best part about the trip is the food of course! While you’ve probably had hummus and labneh back home, the actual variety of Lebanese food can leave one feeling slightly overwhelmed! The lunch at Grand Sheraton yesterday was a grand affair befitting it’s name. While I had the beauty of the blue marina and the grandeur of the restaurant itself to take in as we waiting for our food to arrive, I was super excited about trying out an authentic Lebanese lunch. On the table: We went with a highly refreshing tabboule for salad. Served cold, with extra squirts of the Mediterranean lemon, this was one of my favourite things to eat. 2. Next came the Manakish zaatar and Manakish lahme ( kind of mini pizzas served on local bread, one topped with spice other with a lamb mince), both mouth watering!! 3. We ordered taouk (grilled chicken on skewers) which came with another form of bread, a puffed up pita, garlicky labneh. This was absolutely amazing!! 4. The mains was the typical chickpea and chicken fare with some gravy that’s a standard in most Lebanese cuisine. Didn’t really care for this one. 5 and then there were desserts, my favourite bit this trip. The desserts here are fantastic and yesterday’s was no exception. While my favourite was the cold Mouhallabieh (a cold set milk dessert topped with pomegranate compote and pistachios) people usually prefer Em Ali (almost like a bread pudding except they use cornflakes and load it up with raisins and pistachios). We also tried Maamol Bil Jebne the famous cheese stuffed biscuits! You dunk them into the sugar syrup and pop one in your mouth!! What a humbling and mind opening experience it is to eat other cuisines!! I was born and bred ‘south of the river’ in Bristol. I have childhood memories of family shopping trips to the long gone Sainsbury’s at St Catherine’s Place for Ski yogurts, frozen Findus lasagne and Vesta curries. Forty years later and times have changed. The smaller local shops that were on the decline with the rise of larger supermarkets are now fighting their way back. I love going to Bedminster - it’s full of a growing collection of independent retailers. Some of the old places I remember, like Stan Butt the butcher, are still there among newer places like @hugogreengrocers. Opening only 10 months ago, Hugo told me how he started his journey with selling fruit and vegetables working as a boy @regtheveg. He buys as much produce as possible direct from local farms by driving out each morning to collect the produce himself to put cash ‘straight into the farmer’s hand.’ Hugo also sells local cheese, bread from @bristolloaf and kimchi from @everygoodthing and many many other wonderful local products. Hugo focuses on seasonal produce from the local area and Spanish produce such as citrus fruits from @degusta and Italian specialities too. This beautiful pasta dish came together in literally minutes, is perfect for weeknight meals and features @olivieripasta new artisan flavour Pecorino Romano and Honey Tortellini Gigante #Gigantelove #sponsored ... 🍽 Recipe: 1 package Oliveri Pasta (Pecorino Romano & Honey Tortellini) 4 leaves of kale (de-stemmed and chopped) 2 shallots roasted walnuts goat cheese honey In a medium pot bring water to a boil, once boiling throw in your tortellini (cooking to package directions). . In the meantime in a large sauce pan on medium/high heat, add 2 tbsp of butter and 1 tbsp of olive oil. Roughly slice your shallots and toss them in the pan, cook until golden brown and a bit crispy, then add in your chopped kale and sauté for 3 minutes. Once the tortellini has cooked, gently place them into the pan with the kale and shallots. Drizzle in some honey (about 1 tbsp) and add 2 tbsp of the pasta water and gently mix. Throw in 3 tbsp of chopped roasted walnuts and toss.
