INCREASE ARM SIZE: 🔸 Everyone thinks that the best way to increase arm size is by increasing biceps size. Truth be told, the biceps holds about ~25% of the total cross-sectional area of the arm whereas the triceps is about 50%. That's important to consider in programming when increasing arm size is a goal! 🔸 Blood flow restriction can provide additional stress to the arms without using heavy weights. I tend to tack on 1-2 tricep-specific exercises in either the extended position (shown) or the flexed position (arms overhead) AFTER I lift heavy to increase the stress to the arms to force adaptation. 🔸 REP SCHEME- 30 reps, followed by 3 sets of 15 at 50% arterial occlusion with the @smarttools smartcuff. If this is an area where you experience limitation, give these three exercises a try. - 1️⃣Wall Slide: This exercise is a great strategy for stretching the shoulder through full range of motion. However, it is not uncommon for individuals with limited shoulder (glenohumeral joint) motion to compensate by elevating the shoulder blade. So, as shown in the video, make sure to keep the shoulder blade down while it rotates in order to train proper shoulder mechanics. . 2️⃣Ball Rollout: This exercise is similar to the wall slide except that the kneeling position places the hips in flexion, which helps limit extension in the low back. When shoulder flexion is stiff, many people will arch their low back and flare their rib cage in an effort to gain more motion. This ball technique will help reduce any compensation at the low back. . 3️⃣Eccentric Shoulder Flexion: Eccentric contractions can be a great strategy when working to increase certain aspects of joint mobility. In the case of shoulder flexion, slowly lowering a dumbbell into flexion (eccentric contraction of the shoulder extensors) can be an effective drill for increasing motion. Be careful with this one, however, as the shoulder is in a fairly vulnerable position here. Use a light weight and move slowly. - If you have limited overhead mobility, give these a try and let me know of any questions you might have. . #RehabScience

Wie oft haben wir über die Hitze geklagt,um ihr dann,wenn sie vorbei ist,wieder hinterher zu trauern. An Allem und Jedem gibt es etwas auszusetzen. Zu warm oder zu kalt,zu nass oder zu trocken,zu verrückt oder zu langweilig,zu viel reden,zu wenig sagen,zu dick oder zu dünn,zu viel oder zu wenig,zu schief oder zu gerade... Ob es nun ein Ort,das Wetter,ein der Partner oder... Überall wird nach dem Haar in der Suppe gesucht. Wie oft bestücken wir dies Alles mit negativen Gedanken und wissen es erst zu schätzen,wenn es nicht mehr vorhanden und greifbar ist? ...Wenn es zu spät ist. Warum sind wir nie zufrieden und leben und lieben den Moment,anstatt immer nach Ecken und Kanten zu suchen?Mit etwas Abstand betrachtet,war es ja eigentlich doch ganz nett. Quick P-DTR treatment. Patient had been diagnosed with supraspinatus tendinopathy and impingement via. ultra sound and haven’t been able to abduct the arm at all for 3 months. In this case, the patient had a scar from 3 years back, with hypersignalling nociceptors. Using P-DTR to find the dysfunction’s primary and main secondary receptors and then finish with the protocol. Huge improvements in Range of Motion and less pain. A perfect example of a good way to the rehabilitation process, due to the reduced pain during the following tendon loading. @nordicperformancetraining #nordictreatment
