Some myobar (Graston’s) work around bodybuilder @znwood1 ‘s quad tendon. Zac experiences patellofemoral pain where the knee cap (patella) tracks incorrectly due to Zac’s muscular imbalance. This stretch I'm performing I saw on the @menshealthmag page, and even though they didn't name it there were some similarities so I figured I'd add it to the "World's Greatest" family! - 🍑Here's How To Perform the "World's 2nd Greatest Stretch!" - Part I 1️⃣Start standing with feet wider than shoulder distance apart. 2️⃣Hinge at the hips and place hands on the ground. 3️⃣Walk hands out into a push-up position. - Part II 1️⃣Push the butt to the ceiling. 2️⃣Reach one hand to opposite foot. ☝️Similiar to a downward dog motion. 3️⃣Return to push-up position. - Part III 1️⃣Place one leg on the outside of the hands. 2️⃣Straighten the opposite leg. 3️⃣Push into the ground with the hands. 4️⃣Reach inside hand to the sky. 5️⃣Return to push-up position. 6️⃣Walk hands back to legs. 7️⃣Stand up. - 🍋5 reps on each side is a great place to start! - 🍊Do you like the "World's 2nd Greatest Stretch?" Overhead Mobility Series- Passive Lat Stretch at Barbell- I believe there is time and a place for passive stretching as long as it is followed with active activities. Try this stretch at the barbell to gain some length in your lats. You can follow the stretch up with an active overhead lift off which I will demonstrate later this week. Research has shown that you can improve tissue extensibility when stretching up to 5 minutes total per week. Give this a try if you need to gain some length in your lats.
HAMSTRING REHAB ✅ ➡️ This is an intermediate phase of hamstring rehab. ➡️ Eccentric loading of the hamstrings is an integral part of rehab. ☑️ Research has shown a bigger, stronger hamstring is best to prevent injury. 🙋‍♂️ Requested by @craigm_ if you have any requests let me know! ‼️As a podiatrist I don’t tend to deal with hamstring injuries too often, referral to a physiotherapist is something I often do 🤙

💥As discussed in my Hip IR video, hip mobility in general is extremely important. With patients, I most often see a lack of hip internal rotation.  However, hip external rotation still is important to assess and add into hip mobility work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚡️Typically external rotation is greater than internal rotation.  We are looking for about 40 degrees or more of active external rotation in a non-weight bearing position (shown here). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💥While I do enjoy the 90/90 positions, I have been messing around with my leg propped onto a Jump Box.  I feel a greater stretch and I can roll right into my lift offs.  Same concept as the Hip IR video, PAILS/RAILS and lift offs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚡️Also, you can utilize the hands to irradiate 100% tension in the isometric contraction.  For the Rails, let off the hand tension, and contract pulling the torso downwards, with the inner thigh group of muscles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💥Lastly, if you notice I am trying to stay tall during my lift offs.  It is important to keep the hips level, rather than cheating the range of motion.  It is extremely challenging for the gluteus medius muscle on the contralateral side as well. HIP PAIN WHILE SQUATTING . Have you ever struggled with pain in the front of your hips while squatting? You are not alone! . Lots of people have this problem where they get pain from the area around their hip flexors when they squat, and they blame tight hip flexors for causing this problem. Truth is that it might actually be caused by the relationship between how your glutes and hamstrings are firing during hip extension. Too little activation of your glutes compared to your hamstrings could lead to something called femoral anterior glide syndrome. How this works will be covered in tomorrow’s post! . SLEEPING TIP: FIX THAT CRICK IN YOUR NECK The first sleeping position that we're going to 🔎 examine is on your back. Although this position is common, it often causes problems the neck if not understood. People who tend to be 😵 aggravated by supine sleeping are those with neck pain or dysfunction like a forward head posture, shoulder or arm problems, and some intolerance to extending the low ( if bending backwards hurts as with stenosis or DDD). For those with low back dysfunction, we recommend that you place a pillow under your knees. This takes your low back out of extension into a more neutral position. Lets get back to the neck and shoulder, given this post is very be more critical. Placing a pillow under the head just enough so it puts your neck into a neutral position, from the side, your ear should be in line with your shoulder and in a healthy neck and upper back you will be looking up at the ceiling. Unfortunately, there is no good way to watch 📺 TV or read 📖in bed, simply, your feet should be on the ground in sitting to really prevent and avoid neck problems. This may also serve as a temporary fix while you dig deeper into the root cause of your neck pain. Try this tonight, see if you can sleep comfortably, and wake up feeling like a million bucks. Having said that, so often, in the middle of a negative result, something really big and important can happen that would be great for you too. ¿Qué es la Epicondilitis? ________ La epitroclea es la prominencia ósea que se encuentra en la parte interna distal del humero (hueso del brazo). _____ En esta zona es en donde se insertan los tendones de los músculos flexores y pronadores de la muñeca. ______ Cuando estos tendones se inflaman se produce la condición médica conocida como “ epitrocleitis” o también conocida como “codo de golfista” o "epicondilitis medial”. ______ La epitrocleitis es una forma de tendinitis también y suele acompañarse de epicondilitis o codo de tenista. ______ Los músculos que se insertan en la epitroclea son: +Palmar mayor +Palmar menor +Flexor superficial de los dedos +Cubital anterior _____ Causas ______ El sobreuso y estrés repetitivo sobre la zona es la causa principal de esta forma de epicondilitis. _____ Pero para el desarrollo de este mal también intervienen: +Traumatismos +Soportar grandes pesos con el brazo y codo +Trabajar con maquinas como martillos mecánicos o taladros +Realizar movimientos que involucren la flexión del codo con la flexión de la muñeca +Lesiones cervicales _____ Signos y Síntomas _____ +Prueba de Thompson invertida positiva. +Dolor local en la epitroclea que irradia al antebrazo o parte interna del brazo. +Dolor a la palpación +Dolor y molestia al hacer extender o flexionar la muñeca +Parestesias en la zona del brazo, antebrazo y mano. ______
On our last post we’ve discussed the importance of establishing a strong therapeutic alliance (TA) prior to providing pain neuroscience education (PNE). This is because without TA, generally speaking, the person may think that you are dismissing their pain as something that’s “in their head” and may seek another clinic. - We also think it’s quite fair to assume that most of us have encountered clinicians that recognize psychosocial factors in their clients. SÍNDROME DEL TÚNEL CARPIANO _____ ¿Tienes un dolor en la muñeca que no te deja en paz? ¿Hace días que no puedes realizar tus actividades de la vida diaria como trabajar en la computadora, ducharte y asearte correctamente, o si quiera tomar cosas de estantes porque el dolor y la debilidad no te lo permiten? Puede que estés padeciendo de Síndrome del túnel carpiano _____ Ésta es una afección en la cual existe una presión excesiva en el nervio mediano. Este es el nervio en la muñeca que permite la sensibilidad y el movimiento a partes de la mano. El STC puede provocar entumecimiento, hormigueo, debilidad, o daño muscular en la mano y dedos.El nervio mediano proporciona sensación y movimiento al lado de la mano en el que se encuentra el dedo pulgar. Esto incluye la palma de la mano, el dedo pulgar, el dedo índice, el dedo medio, y el lado del dedo anular del lado del pulgar. La zona en la muñeca donde el nervio entra en la mano se llama túnel carpiano. Este normalmente es angosto. Cualquier inflamación puede pellizcar al nervio y causar dolor, entumecimiento, hormigueo o debilidad. Esto se llama síndrome de túnel carpiano. _____ Algunas personas que presentan este problema nacieron con un túnel carpiano pequeño, lo que facilita a los nervios a que se vean comprimidos. ____ El STC también puede ser causado por hacer el mismo movimiento de la mano y la muñeca una y otra vez.
