Sometimes it takes traveling across the country to get a few hours with some of your favorites. 💛 Happy 10 years, Linthavongs! We adore y’all & loved exploring #pikeplacemarket
Aquarium pro tip: Keep an eye out for nudibranchs hiding in exhibits.🤫
With water being sourced from Puget Sound, hitch hikers like opalescent nudibranch are sometimes found in exhibits.
Recently an opalescent nudibranch has been seen grazing through the moon jelly polyps in the Ring of Life exhibit. Opalescent nudibranchs are a type of sea slug that can ingest the stinging nematocytes or cnidarians like anemone and jelly polyps. They then incorporate the unforced cells into their own cerrata tissues as a defense 🛡⚔️ against potential predators.
