I had never even heard of Pinnacles National Park (@pinnaclesnps
) before I visited earlier this week. I was wonderfully surprised as a result by what I found! Unlike the droves of people at all other national parks, it was dead quiet here and very peaceful. The trail too was unreal. Sadly we didn’t have enough time and were definitely unprepared for the hunting through caves we could have done, but that just gives me a reason to go back. Some wonderful adventure to be had here. We also spotted a rattlesnake on route! (Much to my dismay — I was very careful where I stepped from then on). Highly recommend visiting 😀🐍.
I may have finally hiked all the trails at Pinnacles, but I hope I never tire of this little park 👣
Finally summited North Chalone Peak for amazing views to the west of the Salinas Valley and to the north of the heart of Pinnacles National Park! 👣
Happy 3yr anniversary, love! Even though we haven’t done anything outdoorsy yet this year, may we find adventure and serenity from everything that life throws at us. Thank you for being my strength when I climb the highest mountains, and for reminding me that the best views are yet to come. If I’m the amazing person that I am today, it’s because you helped me get here. I love you! ❤️ //end corny caption lol// #napa #pinnaclesnp #bigsur #peru #iceland #zionnp #grandcanyonnp #capitolreefnp
Another great trip to Pinnacles National Park! Group photo outside Balconies Caves, leaving Bear Gulch Cave, golden hour at Bear Gulch Reservoir, views of the rock formations up in the high peaks (hehe), and a sample of the wildflowers. It’s a small but beautiful park!
painted on my defunct helmet! Thank goodness I was wearing this when a rock fell on my head a few months ago at @pinnaclesnps
! I love my helmet, Ana! Thank you. ♥️

Pinnacles was originally designated as a National Monument in 1908. It was later designated a National Park by Congress in late 2012, and signed into law by President Barack Obama on January 10, 2013. The park is located in a mountainous area east of the Salinas Valley in Central California, about 5 miles (8.0 km) east of Soledad and 80 miles (130 km) southeast of San Jose. The park's namesakes are the eroded leftovers of the western half of an extinct volcano that has moved 200 miles (320 km) from its original location on the San Andreas Fault, embedded in a portion of the California Pacific Coast Ranges. Pinnacles is managed by the National Park Service and the majority of the park is protected as wilderness (Source: Wikipedia) #NationalParksAtoZ #NationalParks #PinnaclesNationalPark #PinnaclesNP #AmericasBestIdea #NPS @pinnaclesnps
I was so excited to catch California condor no. 606 right as he was taking off from the High Peaks of Pinnacles NP during my last trip there. It's hard to describe how impressive these birds are until you see them in person.
Went to the Pinnacles. Ran to Scout Pk, then found a spring and followed it down as it descended over many cool rock formations making small stream falls and multiple pools. After that fun, it was off to N.Chalone Pk and a hike through deer trails and a bit of bush tunneling for a nice mini adventure and something new on the mountain. Great day packed into 11ish miles, my watch got paused somewhere on the mountain when I was pushing through some brush. So maybe 11-12 miles and many cool sights. #4

Happy face for diversity in the outdoors. I said “Happy New Year” to all the Asian families I saw on the trail yesterday. #DoItForTheCulture
