⛰ Pinnacles National Park was an unexpected treat for us! 🤔 Nathan and I knew very little about this park before we discovered it and decided to venture 8 miles out into it. 💧There were caves, lakes, mountainous views, and of course several pinnacles. 🌞 It was one of the more rewarding hikes we had done in quite some time. 📸 Sometimes shots are setup on a tripod while others involve our camera nestled on some natural rock. haha 😎 Here's a candid shot of us setting up a shot.
⛰ We climbed one of the peaks within Pinnacles National Park a while back. This was one of the most rewarding hikes we've done in quite some time! 😀We had to take our packs off and scramble up rock to get to the top of this peak. 👣 It's a lot easier to hike and climb with the proper footwear. Go figure right? 😅 Learn all about the different types of hiking shoes and how they can help you adventure further in Nathan's most recent blog post. 👟
What type of shoes or boots are you using while out on the trail? Nathan's wearing Merrell MOAB 2 Ventilators in this pic. 🌲
With the devastating closure of @yosemitenps
, don't forget about another stunning park in Central California: @pinnaclesnps
While a newer, lesser-known park, the Pinnacles is located just east of Salinas Valley, about a two hour drive from San Francisco. The park has a hauntedly beautiful, prehistoric landscape offering massive rock formations, bear caves and oak woodlands. To learn more, check out the link in my bio!

I had never even heard of Pinnacles National Park (@pinnaclesnps
) before I visited earlier this week. I was wonderfully surprised as a result by what I found! Unlike the droves of people at all other national parks, it was dead quiet here and very peaceful. The trail too was unreal. Sadly we didn’t have enough time and were definitely unprepared for the hunting through caves we could have done, but that just gives me a reason to go back. Some wonderful adventure to be had here. We also spotted a rattlesnake on route! (Much to my dismay — I was very careful where I stepped from then on). Highly recommend visiting 😀🐍.
I may have finally hiked all the trails at Pinnacles, but I hope I never tire of this little park 👣
Finally summited North Chalone Peak for amazing views to the west of the Salinas Valley and to the north of the heart of Pinnacles National Park! 👣
Happy 3yr anniversary, love! Even though we haven’t done anything outdoorsy yet this year, may we find adventure and serenity from everything that life throws at us. Thank you for being my strength when I climb the highest mountains, and for reminding me that the best views are yet to come. If I’m the amazing person that I am today, it’s because you helped me get here. I love you! ❤️ //end corny caption lol// #napa #pinnaclesnp #bigsur #peru #iceland #zionnp #grandcanyonnp #capitolreefnp
Another great trip to Pinnacles National Park! Group photo outside Balconies Caves, leaving Bear Gulch Cave, golden hour at Bear Gulch Reservoir, views of the rock formations up in the high peaks (hehe), and a sample of the wildflowers. It’s a small but beautiful park!
