Did a 5x5 #pistol #squat with each leg +holding a 2kg dumbbell in each hand(4kg total) ๐Ÿ˜Š - Way of working: 5xleg of choice (left for me) -> 2min rest -> 5x other leg, repeated until reaching 5 sets with each leg. In these videos: 5 reps with each leg x1 This is my 2nd session working with weight in my hand, previously done them freely from the floor(hard with right leg) and on a bosu ball(np with both legs). #LEGDAY First of all, that shit hurted. Second, this was honestly one of the better leg days weโ€™ve had in the year @angela_fuscone and I have been training together. Iโ€™m SO fucking proud of her and the progress sheโ€™s made. Today we hit 100 total reps on squat, myself with 315lbs and her with 185lbs and she reached it in 5 sets when it took me 7 to break 100 reps. This girl has never backed down from a workout, never quit or even given me less than 110% every damn day. In our time together weโ€™ve become close friends and life long gym partners. Better to go light on the weight and focus on going all the way through the motion. Seated leg press single leg. 4 sets 6 reps each leg. Keep your knee stable and focus on pushing your leg through the entire motion. Leg curls. 4 sets 12 reps. I do these fast up, and slow and controlled down. I talk a lot about pistol squats, but really this applies to all squats. Control your feet people. Itโ€™s imperative to staying injury free and maximizing your potential in the gym at the same time, especially to those who have had previous ankle injuries. Take advantage of these tips to increase your dorsiflexion (picking your foot up toward your shin). When I first had surgery from cancer in my leg, I had my entire muscle cut out that controls this function which led me to have a wicked drop foot. Trust me, dorsiflexion is an important ability to functioning well in your daily life. I hope this helps and comment or message me with questions if you have any! Adapt. Perform. Repeat. Go get it!

Soooo, mid-late January I posted a video of me attempting to do dragon pistol squats and youโ€™ll see me struggling a lot loll. I then said in March Iโ€™ll master them. Iโ€™ve been practicing them 4-5x a week & today I felt like I pretty much nailed them! And it honestly made my day๐Ÿค— (even though my left leg wrapping around is better due to it being more flexible) Set your mind to something & with practice & work youโ€™ll succeed. Little goals are still goals & when you achieve them, youโ€™ll feel so good about it๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’• Next goal is to not use my hands to bring the leg around! In school, each year we increase the complexity of what we learn.ย  Why dont we do this with our bodies? Going to the gym everyday and doing cardio/lifting/stretching is like going to school and learning the grade 5 curriculum year after year.ย  We should look at fitness as problem solving. How can I balance on that rail? How can I climb that tree? How can I get a deeper squat? The point to bear in mind is to keep your thigh and torso in the same plane throughout the exercise. Description 1. This exercise is a very specialised movement that is designed to work the quad. Because of the unusual angle at which this exercise is performed, this movement only requires bodyweight or only light weight. 2. The basic muscle groups exercised are the lower back, glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves. However, this movement really hits the lower section both medial and lateral heads of the quadriceps which the primary muscle group in this exercise. 3.
