I got a Lume Cube recently and I've been trying to figure out how to use to get the best results possible as an off camera flash with my Pixel2. This is one of the test shots that I was very with, I hope you enjoy!
For those of you who understands the difficulty and complexity of this shot you'll appreciate just how powerful of a lighting tool the Lume Cube is for photography. If not, I'll try to explain why I'm so happy with this shot. Getting a balanced exposure with the sun directly in frame is difficult because you have to meet or over power the intensity of light from the sun being seen by the camera. Making this shot more challenging is Jasper's deep black fur. Because black absorbs light, I needed a tremendous amount of light so I didn't lose any details of his face. The intensity of the light is apparent in his very tiny pupls that are almost invisibly small slits.
I love this little light. I wish the app controls were more granual and precise for phone photography but hopefully that will come when the app is out of early release. Super super blue sky would be the ability to use portrait mode with these things!

Every new place I visit shows me new angles to look at the World, this time has been Montreal, a singular place within Canada
October 23 - Glow.
I'm looking forward to the Sunday clock switch because it's getting dark. In the meantime it's still nice to take a long walk home after a long day at work. Here's a tree on Exmouth Street which I thought has some great colours. 🇬🇧🍁💡🚶
Brunch with a front row view of Place Royale 🥐☕ The plaza is historically significant & extremely touristy (tour buses, international tour groups, selfie sticks), but if you are willing to wake up early to beat the crowds you can snatch a few quiet empty moments to yourself 🧘

Well, I effed up my pixel 2 camera somehow. My Google assistant made this Pano from individual photos that I had taken on our hike Sunday and in these pictures and others there are these weird dark spots. I cleaned the lens. Scott thinks when I took a picture of him and our friend Andy walking through the forest with the sun shining through the trees that it might have burnt a spot onto my sensor. I hope it's not an expensive fix. Taking photographs is one of my favorite things! #pixel2photography #pixel2 #pnwphotographer #pnwphotography #pnw
