I have a fear of the unknown, fear of failing, fear of my own capacity to create and grow.
I struggle with fear.
I do not want to “conquer” or overcome my fears, but welcome it.
I want to embrace my fears, surrender to them as I surrender to the earth’s magical power when I plant a seed into the ground.
Each seed, thought, &/or creation is planted with the utmost care. As I surrender to the elements, I know each seed may need different attention, someday never sprout at all. But those that unearth with power and beauty; I learn them, love them, and allow them to reach their full potential.
Allow me to take on new projects like a seed, knowing some may never sprout, but even then, each is planted with pure love and joy no matter what our beautiful world makes of them. ✌🏽 ______________________________
Ummm how cute is this?! Baby @hunterboots

It’s lilac season in Maine! Wish IG had a scratch and sniff button so you could smell these beauties. By the end of the week, the smell in the yard will be amazing!
After 7 days, our grass seed has fully grown! After reading Denise Fleming’s In the Tall Tall Grass (swipe left), the children looked for bugs 🦋 🐜 🐛 🕷 hiding in the grass. A few days later, we measured the grass with unifix cubes and gave the grass a haircut using scissors! 💇🏼 Are you going to try planting grass seed inside with your child or students? #plantingseeds #plantingwithkids #gardeningwithkids #grassseed #sensoryplay #sensorytable

Some budgeting seasons are for planting, and some are for harvesting. Right now, Joel and I are finally starting to see some fruits of our labor! A few months ago we were able to finish paying off our $40,000 worth of consumer and college debt. Now, we are starting to save and establish our emergency fund which is a nice feeling! When the scale starts tipping in the positive direction rather than the negative it makes all of your hard work worth it!! 💰
What season of budgeting are you in?
Consider us your personal cheerleaders! Your financial destination will be worth the journey!!! 💪🏼 #yougotthis #plantingseeds
Just a few pictures as we start our backyard gardening!
Guys..... I have never been a gardener! (In fact plants and flowers have come here to die unfortunately), But!..... this spring I have a new look on it, and I have this crazy itch to grow things with the kids!! 🌼🌸🌼🌸

Joyce Davis is a longtime member of our church and for the past year she has greeted me EVERY Sunday by saying, "how's my favorite author?" 💙As a grandmother & a 25 year veteran teacher, she eagerly anticipated this book & was one of the first people I showed it to! So it was an easy "yes" to come read to her students at J.E. Moss Elementary in Antioch. I was met with a glorious display of mostly brown kiddos 😍who asked great questions; "Where did you get the idea to write this story?"
"How did you get color all around the book?"
"When did you become an author?" One sweet girl was excited to tell me her name is Imani, just like one of the book characters!💜 These are precious open doors, sharing #ColorFull
in diverse settings! #plantingseeds #kidsaskthebestquestions
The basil babies made the transplant.... I’m gonna have to get some seedlings.
Every day is a new chance to begin again!!!! #
Only you determine what kind of day you’ll have.
Make it FABULOUS!!!
May 2018- Planting the last 4 of the 22 rows of the main garden... On to the new garden space in the yard!
Yesterday I had the privilege of dropping off a dream seed (of sorts) to a man who is already cultivating and harvesting my dream!! 😂 Ok, enough with the farming analogies. 😂
I met Gary Malkin, current owner of Kaufman Shoes (named after his grandfather), at the Buntyn Artwalk. I invited him and his sweet wife into my booth for a closer look and they accepted. Then they locked in on a piece I call City United. They loved it because it spoke of their mission as business owners in our city. However, the colors were all wrong for his shop. He had just had his store completely re-designed to celebrate their 70th year in business! Instead of black, Memphis blue, silver and gray he needed brown, teal and pale green. He requested a custom piece for his shop, and I couldn't be happier to have a piece of my artwork, a seedling of the mission I am on as an artist, planted in a very influential shop in our city!
Just look at the beautiful diversity in his staff! .
If you need a completely amazing pair of shoes and you love doing business with local with people who exemplify great character, value and service, you will love Kaufman Shoes!! 6515 Poplar Ave.

What a perfect long weekend. And how beautiful is the natural world right now!? All of the green and all of the luscious lilacs. Yesterday we planted all of our tiny little seedlings into our new garden plot and created rainbows as we soaked the soil for the first time. Magic. Thank you Mother Nature 🙏
