My busy babes are happiest outside in our backyard, it brings us all a sense of calm. We made all of these spaces ourselves and I just love watching my babes enjoy and emerse themselves in all aspects of their play - even Tilly enjoys playing independently now especially if she is outside! ☉🌱🌳🌊☉
We love daylight savings, spring and summer, and the glorious weather that it brings. If my kids didn't both nap for 2hours in the afternoons we would spend all day and night out there, we probably average 4-6hours outside everyday this time of the year, how about you?
The girls made what I hope will be their first annual Camping Trip Parental Scavenger Hunt while we were at Hovenweep over the weekend. After an 8+mile hike to see the tower ruins, we dozed and read in the tent while they huddled at the picnic table, writing their clues. Hours of self entertainment! Happy mama became happier mama when they sent Steve and me off on the hunt. Rules: “you can’t quit , have fun and you have to appreciate the surprise at the end.” Ten clues, some spousal teamwork, lots of fun!, and a circuitous route all over the campground led us to the finish... one beer, a sparkling water, carrots and hummus and 4 Justin’s peanut butter cups laid out at the amphitheater. So impressed by their initiative, ingenuity and stick-to-itness! And some pretty clever clues too!

Explored Phoenix by bike today along the canal! I was surprised at how peaceful it was. On many stretches all there was to enjoy was the water, the mountains, and the bright blue sky. 💚 There were also several spots with art installations and murals. I’m already looking forward to going back and taking others to explore the valley of the sun through this new lens!
My precious girl and her sweet little smile. Sometimes, I just can't deal with all the emotion I feel when I look at that little face. I feel so blessed that she belongs with us and that we get to see her grow into the wonderful person that she already is. That little spark of confidence, compassion, mischief, and pure joy that I see in her eyes makes me eager to know the woman she will be one day. But for now, I'm completely content snuggling with her, comforting her, and learning from her. I'll take advantage of that for a long at I can. ❤️

Craft pumpkins brought to you by Pinterest and Judah. Our favorite part was walking around and picking up the leaves. Also going on every slide in sight. 🍂🍃

‘Happiness is not a goal but a by-product’ - I just read this quote and it resonates with me so deeply. There is so much emphasis on being happy, getting happy, looking happy, making others and yourself happy. It almost feels sinful or ungrateful to be anything but happy. We are encouraged to peruse happiness, spread happiness, exude it. What would happen if we all just felt what we felt, pursued authenticity, got real with our feelings and each other. Would this perhaps make us really happy? #happy #happyhiking
