Depending on your mood, the clouds are parting and blue skies are breaking through, or the dark clouds are rolling in and darkness and storms will surely follow. For me, they’re rolling in.
I’ve been getting the feeling lately that things have been piling up against me . This last batch of trouble-sorry, “learning opportunities”- the universe has sent me has confirmed it. Just in time for Christmas too. How thoughtful.
The person I'd normally dump this on is unavailable so I’m doing what I’ve always complained about, venting on Instagram. It might surprise absolutely no-one that I tend to get dramatic when I get bad news. It’s not my finest trait(no, that's my embroidery skills)so I'll try spin this.
It’s never as bad as you(I) first think, whatever it is. You can analyse to the point of paralysis but it will literally get you nowhere. When I had an actual career and a problem arose I'd engage full crisis mode. I'd make a note of what resources I had and how best and in what order I'd throw them at it, to first limit damage and then, come up with a solution. I found that just the act of mentally going through your inventory and listing the positives can make you feel better. Better won’t necessarily mean perfect, but better. And making that list? That’s progress. That’s momentum. That’s moving against the problem, which is what you need.
And before you go thinking I’m wise again, I’m not. That’s how I get myself into trouble in the first place. There may be some stress-eating of dairy-free Ben & Jerry’s this weekend too, possibly for breakfast. But I’m hoping that, like The Oracle said to Neo(I’m obviously Neo), by the time I’m done eating this cookie, I’ll feel right as rain(rain in November sucks, but whatever). Have a great weekend, #starpeople
I bet everything will turn out just fine.
