Farmers Market treats!
These mushrooms and fruit are just a small part of the haul. They were the only things that fit in our bag. The zucchini had to roll around the bottom of the stroller and the strawberries came in the plastic holder but we promised to return it next week. He said not to worry about it, but we will. Because we don't want it and he can reuse it. The eggs are easy... They come 30 on a flat tray and the seller asked me to return it if I can so we have been week after week. We even bring back the elastics which really impressed him. So far the breads have been most difficult. I managed to convince the fresh pretzel lady to let me just grab three this week since the kids would eat them right away, previously she has insisted on putting them in a plastic bag. And the bread place has all of it's bread in perferated bags already then they give you another one to keep it fresh. I take the perferated bag but not the other one as we have more than enough plastic bags still lingering in our home.
We are getting better at shopping local and reducing our waste in a sustainable way. Day by day.

corn tortillas with pickled red onions, scallions, fresh radish, and cilantro. Halved an onion, thinly sliced both halves separately, and tried two versions of quick pickled onions: 1) boiling 1/4 T sugar, 1/3 C red wine vinegar, 1/3 C water, couple pinches of salt, and steeping the onion until softened - these are on the taco in the back 😄; 2) steeping onion in boiled water and salt until softened, draining, and adding plenty of lime juice.
