Nam Myōhō Renge Kyō.... repeat. Followers of Nichiren Buddhism consider Myōhō Renge Kyō to be the name of the ultimate law permeating the universe, and the human being is at one, fundamentally with this law (dharma) and can manifest realization, or Buddha Wisdom (attain Buddhahood), through Buddhist Practice. .
Many moons away I practiced nichiren Buddhism for a good while, I don’t really know why I stopped.🤷🏾♂️ . .
PTSD is bitch. Tonight out of the blue, I woke up in deep hysterics. Some aspects of my life has been quite hairy, I know. So in my attempt to try and calm my fucking self down, I ended up even more panicking. Lol 😆 I tried focusing on my breathing, anything really! Nothing worked. .
Strangely found myself repeating Nam Myōhō Renge Kyō. Slowly Calmed down, gained a bit of mental clarity but not as clear as the sky in this picture. 😅
Then my alarm went off. It’s time to CrossFit😰 Someone, give me strength😅💓 #thoughts #monyay #itsgonnabegreat #ptsd #struggleisreal #bepositiveanyway #positiveintent
I will cherish our adventures together, forever. Love you to the moon and back little muffin! On a side note: I think I’m winning at this whole older Sister thing. .
Wellington is getting ready to once again showcase WOW , the world of wearable arts show. Along with the wonder of the show, I just love how the city comes alive as lovers of art and fashion converge on the capital in all their colourful splendour. We’ll be down at the Underground Market in Wellington this Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm, showcasing vibrant colour, all the way from Rajasthan, with a new shipment skirts and dresses made from recycled saris. We’ve just celebrated a partnership having spanned 12 years with the family run business in Rajasthan who produce the garments. We are so grateful for our friends and collaborators worldwide that remind us that the world is our village.
Bryan spends the day with the elephants and asks about their names and their stories. .
I love this kid and his heart so so much.
One Sunday awhile back I was playing organ for a church service when I lost my place during a hymn. My fingers fumbled to find the melody as my eyes frantically tried to find the correct place in the music. After the service a gentleman came up to me and said, very sincerely, "That organ was really acting up today, wasn't it." He truly thought it was the organ's fault, not mine!
It made me think about the way we so often think the worst of people instead of trying to put incidents in a positive framework. For example, what do you usually think or say when there's a sign that says, "Left lane closed ahead" and someone zips by you in the left lane and forces his way into the right lane farther up. Do you call them names? Or do you think, "That person is really in a hurry. They must have an emergency! I hope everything turns out ok!" It's possible to see the world differently when you use positive intent instead of negative. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Throwing it back to 6 months ago when I was back in the Mother land and this happened and counting down to less than 6 hours when I will be reunited with my babies!
There’s a thing about abstract-ness. It’s a beautiful beautiful thing. When you are only able to see an idea of a thing. Everything is dependent on how your brain perceives the object. And you. We stand there, in a puddle of failed comprehension. Not knowing what’s there. Not knowing what goes beyond this moment. We dance and we flirt between the line of the ephemeral and the permanent. Everything that might change at any given moment. Isn’t that beautiful?
This was me yesterday. (Well not actually me, swipe left to find out who it really was 😉), but it’s certainly how I felt as I dived nose deep into the sea of emotions that nearly swallowed me up and anybody who got too close.
It’s been many years since I felt that out of control in my sadness that I needed to seek help.
And seeking help is hard. It means dropping our ego and admitting that we’re not as perfect as we’d like to believe.
But it helps. If only to have another human share the weight for a small time so you can create some mental space to prepare a forward plan.
And that’s what we did. We made a plan. I took some steps and almost instantly I felt back in the drivers seat and ready to face whatever lesson was coming up for me to face.
My awareness was brightened again by action in a forward and positive direction. 💫
Action is the remedy to thought. Action propels us from one moment into the next. And when we choose positive action, peace surely comes following along.
Peace my friend. Welcome home.
When we attribute positive motives to a child’s behavior, we position ourselves to teach and the child to learn. Here’s an example: 5-year-old child starts grabbing all counting bears at his group table before you begin your math lesson.
🔹 Negative intent would say: "Mark what should you be doing with the bears?"
"What’s our rule about sharing in this classroom?"
"Mark do you want your name on the board?”
🔹 Positive intent would instead say:
“Mark, you wanted to be sure you have enough counting bears. I want you to have enough too. Count out 10 bears for yourself and 10 bears for each person at your table.”

🦋Don’t wear white after Labor Day they say. Don’t put a baby to sleep on their bellies they say. Don’t breastfeed in public. Don’t let your kids watch shows on the iPad. Don’t give kids too many snacks, deprive them of snacks, call it a snack, let them see you eating snacks. #snacks
Don’t do what your parents did. Don’t do what your mother in law wants you to do. Don’t do it if a book doesn’t approve of it. Don’t do it just because a book approves of it. But also always listen to your intuition they say? 🤦♀️🤯🤦🏽♂️
🦋THEY. (Insert profanity themed emojis here directed at they. But don’t really because THIS is a professional account) They do mean well because #positiveintent
and all but ultimately, “she found that when she mothered her own way, she mothered the best way” @januaryharshe
who btw just came out with a book that I fully support and recommend and will most likely talk more about in this space soon because I deeply believe in her and her work. (So even before I do go follow her and her business account @birthwithoutfear
because it’s So. damn. Worth. It.) But (to quote January again) #youdououboo #trustyourintuition #mamaknowsbest #dadsknowbesttoo #parentsintuition #parentingcoach #screwthey

"Everything we do we do for a positive intent" - Tony Robbins
I had to write that quote down and think about it. For Mr. Robbins this is truth but I had to see if it was for me too.
For me, I took it to mean that whether we are doing something we want to be doing or something we would rather not be doing, something that totally sucks, we are doing it for a positive outcome.
We take every action in life to feel good one way or another. .
I became a people pleaser. Always wanted to be liked by people. Never wanted to disappoint. But what did I lose in the process? Well at the time, independence, self esteem, my wants/needs/dreams and time. I gave for nothing in return. Was that positive intent? In a weird twisted kind of way yes i guess it was. I avoided conflicts (not really), I tried to protect myself (that didnt always work) so what was the point of not doing what I wanted?
Whose feelings are you pleasing the most? Yours or someone else's? Does constantly serving someone else's needs while putting yours on the sideline fulfill you? What is your positive intent?
🍃Some time ago one of my local testers told me she'd been using my hair oil as a body oil as well. I had never done so before, but today gave me a great, albeit uncomfortable, opportunity to test it for something more than it's intended purpose!
I was in my office's garage and had my arm pressed against the super crusty, cringe-worthy hood of a car😑... I know, what in the world was going on in my head? Anyway, about 1 min into leaning on said surface, my forearm started letting me know I'd screwed up (warm burning sensation). The result was the inflamed patch of skin in the pics above. I immediately washed the area, and was about to reach for alcohol, when I thought of my herbalicious oil 😏, and thought why not? On contact , the oil was immediately cooling to my skin from the essential oil blend. Was very soothing, enough for me to for get about how irritated the skin was. I took pics over the hour afterwards to show the results of using the oil. 🌺
I've since wiped down the car hood and realized there was some type of weird residue on it. That's probably what made the reaction so severe.

I mean, you could be one of those that always sleuthed out the negativity in every situation. Or you could be one of those that only saw the good. Nothing wrong with both. But it just ain’t me. I’m not saying it’s not okay but I’ve always been a bit of a realist. I love to savour and express gratitude for the darkness. Don’t tell me that not how I should live. Don’t tell me who to be. I actually like myself and Sister ain’t need no one’s approval. See the thing is, the way I see it, there wouldn’t be one without the other. So once again, if being seemingly alone is a bad thing, if enjoying the dark moments is a bad thing. If seeing things for what they are and calling them out as I see them is a bad thing, then umm sure, okay? Whatever floats your boat, am I right?
