While the world is busy comparing Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton and Lady Diana, I would simply comment on how Meghan has proved to be an example of feminism and women empowerment in this day and age.
The woman simply altered the #RoyalWedding
tradition to her own will. She chose to ammend her vows, decided to wear the designer she liked, the dress she wanted, the gospel choir, the simple makeup she adorned, and changed the lineage of #RoyalWeddings
. She walked the aisle alone, without any brother or father to take her along.
Not only this, but Prince Harry also proved that true love knows no bounds. He proved what actually feminism is; men standing for women! If not for him, the tabboo of prince marrying a divorcee, older than him, and a woman of Black background would never have been possible for the Royal bloodline.
Meanwhile, our khalas and phuphos in Pakistan are still stuck on, “Dulhan zyaada bari nahe lag rahe?”, “Dulhan ho zyaada hansana mat”, “Usko dekha tha apne shadi main, haw haye, ktna simple tayar hue the, zara bhe ache nahe lag rahe the”. It’s about time for us to accept the change as well. Live and let live. You usually get to marry once in your life, do it the way you want. Traditions and decades’ old customs matter, but nothing matters more than free will and acceptance of who you are, and what values you follow.
From Prince Harry and just Meghan Markle to Duke and Duchess of Sussex, this #RoyalWedding
is definitely the talk of the town, and for all the right reasons. Let’s all take some notes as well! ❤️ #TheWriterAndHerMuse #KainaatMaqbool #WritersOfInstagram #WritersOnInstagram #WriterCommunityOfInstagram #RoyalWedding #RoyalWedding2018 #DukeAndDuchess #DukeAndDuchessOfSussex #PrinceHarry #MeghanMarkle #HarryWedsMeghan #KateMiddleton #LadyDiana #PositiveVibesOnly #RoyalWeddings
