I didn't workout until 6 months postpartum with my first baby, then 3.5 months with my second. The guilt of leaving them was overwhelming... But, how I was feeling mentally and emotionally was overwhelming as well. It's the only thing I do for myself, you need to take care of yourself in order to take care of others. I have been looking forward to this day for months! I had my postpartum checkup yesterday and I’m officially cleared to workout. . Another one month progress shot. The amazing thing is that I haven’t had to do anything darastic to get results! Three days of resistance training, 2 days of Hiit (just started last week), and walking a couple miles once a week. My diet is still not 100% cleans and I am currently not tracking, but I am trying to eat healthy. Living dairy free now is a big adjustment for me. I am having to find all new ways to eat. CONFESSION TIME. I have to be honest. My nutrition has been SO bad recently. Breastfeeding makes me HANGRY all the time & what do I crave & want to eat most? COOKIES. I literally ate a box of double stuff Oreos in 3 days- BY MYSELF. These lactation cookies pictured that my bestie ever so graciously made for me- I’ve been DEVOURING them. . Being a virtual health + fitness coach doesn’t make me perfect. It doesn’t mean I have some magical juice that makes me want to always workout & never treat myself with meals or dessert. It doesn’t mean you’re at your goal weight & ‘done’ with your physical goals. Coaching is about being REAL & RAW with where you’re at. So, here I am. Admitting as a coach that I’ve slipped up. Admitting that I’m on sugar overload & feeling like I can’t stop. I’m NOT perfect, but with coaching I now have a community of women I can lean into that will encourage me when I’m down. Women that will help pick me up when I’ve fallen. With coaching, I have the tools & understanding of how to move forward & to learn from this. With coaching, I know how to fuel my body for my goals & not restrict myself to the point of not being able to stay on track. Coach has given me a new mindset. Take it one day at a time. One workout at a time. One meal at a time. It’s not a race- it’s a marathon. So happy that my local coffee shop is offering these egg bites! I am not a huge egg fan but being on #ww I try to eat them since they are zero points. My meals 90% of the time are a see what’s in the fridge, toss in a pan, add some spice, and voila 👌🏼, a quick, delicious meal! I am no chef, but I appreciate flavour. I shovel food into my mouth #momlife but I enjoy every bite. Food HAS to taste good, I can’t imagine going through life not enjoying what I’m putting in my body just to follow a certain diet, that ultimately would have an end. Simple. Sustainable. Satisfied. Today’s lunch - chicken (if you saw my stories, you know it slept in the oven all night 😜, again, #momlife ), sweet potato (with enough cooked for purée for babe), spinach, peppers, garlic, onion, apple, and tossed with 1 tsp of curry powder. 10 minutes — heat and eat! Nourished Mama = nourished babe 😍.

This was going through my head this morning when I was trying to wake up at our normal 5:20 alarm and felt like I had gotten hit by a semi after another long night of screaming teething Fynnlee.😳 ⁣ ⁣ She wasn’t having it for our morning routine where I feed her and put her in her rock n’ play to sleep while we workout. 🙅🏻‍♀️ So I opted out and got her back to sleep for another 30 minutes til I had to get the big kids up for school. Then it was straight back to bed to try and get one more chunk of sleep to make up for some of what we missed last night!😴⁣ ⁣ I remember when I would let one day completely throw me off. I was all in or completely off.💯 There was no middle ground. I’ve learned that the middle ground is actually where a lot of the beautiful growth happens!🐛🦋 I can have hard days but not let em completely derail me like they used to. ⁣ ⁣ It’s not a matter of IF struggles will come - it’s only a matter of WHEN. But the people who continue to progress in LIFE are the ones who don’t stay down for long. The faster you can bounce back - the faster you can triumph.💕
The first picture came up on my memories today. I was due in exactly 4 weeks- 2years ago. Little did I know- he was only gonna get bigger & I was pregnant for another 6 weeks. 😩😅🤦‍♀️ . . . . . . . . . . . I never thought I’d get my body back or look like I did before I had a baby. It didn’t happen overnight and it’s not supposed to. And I still have goals I’d like to reach. Today, I had to remind myself how far I’ve come. I had to remind myself that I’m currently under my pre pregnancy weight. I had to remind myself that life doesn’t stop. The grind doesn’t stop. And the only person that’s gonna make you a better you is YOU. ✨⭐️ *and if you’ve got little people looking up to you- then you’ve got no excuses but to be better 🤙🏽💪🏽#swiperight #fitmom

“I don’t have time, I can’t afford to meal prep, I don’t know what to do” I get it. I really do. I have a 4 month old and I’m running around between 2 jobs. There were misunderstandings with my previous job, so I went 10 weeks without a paycheck and it’s hitting us now. I understand why you’re struggling. I understand that your family and income are your priorities, BUT you CANNOT give 100% if you don’t take care of yourself. I’ve been exhausted and putting myself last, but this morning I was having a lot of anxiety. It’s time to get 💩 together. What’s the point of this post? It’s not for sympathy. It’s To let you know that I’m going to help you. The “Fail to plan, plan to fail” movement is true, but no one is telling you how to do it. I’m going to show you how to fit in some time for yourself, and most importantly, I’m going to teach you to meal prep on a budget. We prefer the butcher shop and organic, but that’s considered a luxury right now. We’re going to prep on a serious budget, and help you along the way. The holidays are the easiest times to slack. We’re not and I’m not going to let you, so be ready for tips on success. This is perfect timing for my online clients too! Stop telling yourself you can’t. I guarantee you can.
I signed up for the 2019 Cardiff Half Marathon last night. It’s not until October so I’m looking for another one to do towards the middle of the year as well. I really wanted to get my running back on track and so, here I am! The weather has been beautiful again today and I managed to get out for a run while Luke had a quick break for lunch. We started off walking with the baby and doggies together and then as they turned around to go back home, I carried on running for just over 30 mins - enough to cover a good distance and quick enough to get back to Jasper. I wrapped up warm with my jacket, gloves and headband (which I’ve been so excited about..) and then 15 mins in they all came off! It got so warm. Completely forgot to put my watch on so I’m not sure exactly how far I went but I made sure it was was really hilly to get my legs going. I did check my iPhone health app which has me down for covering 6.1km in the time I was out so I’m pleased with that. If it wasn’t for Luke today then I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it so I do appreciate that I’m really lucky that he works from home and although I hardly ever take advantage of him for this, sometimes it’s okay to do so. 🤭☺️ Especially when he’s travelling next week for two weeks.. Again, if a run wasn’t possible, I would have made sure I got out for a long walk with Jasper because this weather is too good to waste indoors. I still need to invest in a jogging stroller. Maybe now that I have some races to train for, I’ll have to ask for one for Christmas 🤭... as well as a new Garmin. I've still been at it, just done a poor job of recording it. On Monday we rowed 500 meters for time. I got 2:05. The second row I had 2:05 to make it to 500 meters again, I got 502. And on the third round I got 500 meters in 2:05. Yesterday we did 4 rounds. A month and a half between the two • 5️⃣1️⃣ days apart to be exact • It’s hard to see the tiny changes everyday but when I do it consistently enough, the changes are quite obvious 😁 This is why I take pictures daily. It helps me see the changes that go unnoticed. Plus, thanks to the modern day technology for keeping records of the dates the photos were taken or else I’ll never remember 😂 And one more thing. I have not stepped on a scale for personal use in over 2 years! The ONLY reason why I was on the scale last year was for my pregnancy at my daily OB appointments - but other than that, I haven’t stepped on the scale since giving birth. A scale means nothing to me so I ditched it a long time ago for personal use ☺️ Take pictures and use a measurement tape. These tools are all I need. So don’t obsess over the number on the scale especially while on a health and fitness journey! #postpartumfitness #momsonamission
Another early training session complete.. training schedule by @bigmikewhph .. every time I train I feel as though It’s getting harder, but I also feel as though I’m getting fitter . A friend told me not to look at the scales, and I won’t.. because I feel better than I weigh. On Saturday I’ll be 3 months PP, and I’m just taking it a day at a time. Although I only gained 4 kilos in my pregnancy , I’m back to my pre pregnancy weight. I have tunnel vision and I’m just focusing on the end result but taking it a day at a time.
When they say every pregnancy is different — they sure as heck mean it! . We’re talking first trimester sickness, weight gain, body aches, deliveries, everything! And just when I think I’ve got this whole pregnancy thing down, I get thrown for a loop! 😜 . We are almost 38 weeks and Caroline is still breech. And making mama a little uncomfortable! It’s funny because in the picture on the left I’m about 38 weeks pregnant with Danny and strolling around IKEA doing some furniture shopping like it’s no biggie! (we had just moved into a brand new place that very week). . And at this point in my current pregnancy? I’m lucky if I’m able to get up to walk to the fridge! 😂 . No but really — the difference in my aches and pains is like night and day (and I do think it has a lot to do with the fact that this is my third pregnancy but mostly because of the way she is positioned currently). . I’m so eager to meet her, but at this point want to give her as much time as possible to make some moves in there. While our c-section is scheduled, I’m still holding out hope that she decides to do some flipping. After delivering the boys, I never imagined a c-section being a possibility. But the truth is, all that matters to me is keeping her safe. . It’s a waiting game now! 🤰
Leg day Wednesday!!! Little update. We have hit the 150lb from 189lb when I first deliver my little man back in March . As we can all appreciate on the first two pictures my back fat 🐷😂 is starting to be minimal !! Yay 😀!! Me lol. So we’re slowly getting there. Yesterday and today baby O fell asleep dropping sister off. So I took advantage of it and got my workouts in as soon as we got home. Coach said by New Years I should be running long runs on the weekend. My 39 minute workout took me double the amount of time today from phone call interruptions to poopy diapers and little man needing a nap, but that’s #momlife and I wouldn’t have it any other way💙just makes me super thankful I can workout from home and not have the added stress of going to a gym, cause I honestly have no idea how that would even be possible🤷🏼‍♀️but getting results in my basement is the BOMB💣
There are 3 types of people: 💥 Those that do the bare minimum to get by 💥 Those that do all the things consistently and it’s good enough 💥 Those that LOOK for ways to go above and beyond so Christ can do GREAT things in them. I’ve been struggling with the this thought recently...”is it selfish to want more out of what you’re doing? To want to be better? To want God to use you for GREAT things?” The answer👉🏻 NOT AT ALL!!!! God wants to do great things through you. He wants you to be active and work hard and look for ways to be and do better because that way, He can use you for His Kindgdom. God called us to be a light. How can we be a light if we are hiding from our potential? It’s ok to work hard. It’s ok to want to do great things for His glory. It’s ok to want to be better. I think I fall in the good enough category right now. But, my prayer is for God to do great things through me. To help me be a light. It all boils down to how bad you really want something. I’ve made all the excuses why I can’t do things. I’ve talked myself out of things because of financial purposes. Heck...I’ve even made purchases to help me live healthy and let it sit saying next week over and over again. . Trust me people...right now in my life I’m 40 years old, 31 weeks 4 days pregnant, caring an additional 27 pounds of unwanted extra pregnancy weight, I’m TIRED AF every second of every day, I’m crazy busy with a 21 month old baby girl, plus house hold chores and errands that need to be ran on the constant, I’m sleeping an average of maybe 5 hours per night, and when I hear the alarm go off at 4:30 to workout the last thing I want to do is get out of bed. . So PLEASE by all means comment your WHYS again on why you can’t find 30 minutes to better your health each day!!! . I only feel compassion for you when you aren’t aware of what’s out there to help you...once your given all the tools don’t be silly. Put in the work! I promise you won’t regret it. “Behind every successful woman is a TRIBE of women who has her back!” . . I’m part of an amazing tribe of women @train_insane_with_cass. A couple months ago I signed up for these classes and just recently finished my first 8 weeks! I’ve been working out at home for the past 4 years and it’s been great and worked with my hubbys schedule and young kids. I was self motivated and did get results. But I didn’t realize how much I needed train insane in my life. I feel so excited to go to my classes. I feel so challenged, motivated and stronger every time I go. I have made some amazing friends. Cassie has put so much time and energy into her classes and it shows! People love it which is why it filled up crazy fast this session. . . I was so nervous to go to my first class.
