Six years from 0 flexibility to compass pose without any warm up: consistency is key. #yogalife
Holy shit this was probably the hardest class I've done do date....minus the ones where I had to practice early in the morning (those are rough for someone who works nights)
And I freaking love it. I love a challenge, it's in my blood, I'm an aquarius and its more true every year as I learn more about myself.
There are a quote going around the interwebs, and I dont remember the exact quote, but it resonated with me A LOT. It was something along the lines of the saying 'finding yourself' and how we don't really find ourselves but instead we more come back to our original selves by stripping all the artificial layers we built around ourselves. Whether it was society telling you what you should be or do, or being pressured to be something or look like someone else. During our process of self discovery we actually are just taking off artificial layers we've put on, to come back to and be who we truly are. So we arent actually finding anyone, were actually just coming home to ourselves.
Yoga helps me learn how to strip those layers. It teaches me that my breath is my best friend during all that shhhtufff.
Happy Friday, try to make your way back home to yourself, one conscious breath at a time, it's one hell of a journey 😊😘

Plans are in the works for April 2020. Watch this space for an announcement before Christmas and please email Cece if you’d like to be on the interest list. These retreats sold out in 48 hours last time!

We go through so many “wild things” in life; loss, heart break, betrayal. We need to deal with so much mental confusion and sometimes even physical heart pain. This naturally causes us to close up our heart, and place layers over it, trying to protect it - but really its just a way to camouflage and put our little hearts into a more vulnerable place without even noticing. ✨ By doing this we close out our heart chakra - we close ourselves to the beauty of giving and receiving love and we set aside the feelings of compassion, of peace of grace. In place to this we feel other emotions and feelings that are the opposite and being us down, like anger, and grief, and frustrations. ✨
Heart openers, and back bends help us open, release and unblock our heart chakra. It helps us let go of unwanted / unhealthy tension, and emotions. ✨
I love back bends and heart openers and I love feeling the vulnerability in the air every time I teach it in my classes - not saying that I don’t feel vulnerable at times too, because I do! ✨ “Wild thing” is one of my favorite heart openers. i love the feeling it brings to my body while I expand and open out my chest with the feel of bursting my heart fully out - along with the graceful beauty of the posture itself. ✨
What’s your favorite heart opener? And how do you feel every time you’re in a backbend?

I seek freedom and home within myself - independent from location, situation or circumstance.
I - unknowingly - always have.
I seek to hold space for others - so they too, may find their truest freedom and sweetest homecoming.
Meditation, Movement, Essential oils, Inspiration - are but tools to support the creation of the most balanced, most authentic, and most optimal conditions for our entire being - body, mind, spirit -
which allows space to learn, wake up, grow, and THRIVE.
To truly be free and home, anytime, anywhere.
How sweet would that be?
Self-care simply means setting yourself up to love yourself later! I used to think it meant getting massages and mani-pedis, which are for sure the spice of life—but there’s more! Being wise with your time, not violating your own time boundaries and spending an hour on a call you said would take thirty minutes. Eating food that will fuel and heal you, not processed dog shit you tell yourself is some kind of masochistic “reward.” (Ask me how I know this move...) Taking care of your money, not blowing the budget in a hasty spending spree because you “deserve it.” (Ask me how I know...) Taking care of your mind with a morning meditation, not scrolling through social media and putting out fires via email. (Yep.) Self-care takes compassionate discipline. It’s about integrity, not indulgence. It’s about setting up your future self to feel peaceful and confident and joyful and powerful. Talk to us about your self-care practice—or lackthereof. What’s changed your life? What needs to change?

Sometimes simple is best. This is just black beans and grilled onions and peppers over cilantro lime rice and topped with a dab of sour cream. I didn't use a recipe, just threw stuff together and it turned out tasty.
