. I recently went to a functional dr who specializes in hormones. And go figure, my blood work was all kinds of crazy. This is where we’ve started, along with a strict paleo diet, thanks Hashimoto’s (which I’ve been trying to ease myself into, thank you holiday season 😬). Along with these, I need to start testosterone therapy. My levels are almost at zero. Testosterone in women is a vital component to overall health. Low testosterone in women can cause fatigue, muscle weakness, weight gain, sleeping problems (all of which I’ve been experiencing).

Sunday nights in the fall are for chili and football 🏈 I love the vast array of fixings you can add to your chili, but instead of a dollop of sour cream on top of mine I added cultured goats milk kefir. I also had kefir and berries for breakfast! I just recently added goats milk kefir to my diet because it is one of the most probiotic rich foods on the planet! so I'm not ashamed to tell you all that I got pretty excited when I found some unpasteurized #sauerkraut
in my local grocery store. Why was I so excited? Well, unpasteurized sauerkraut is packed with gut friendly bacteria (probiotics). While the pasteurized, shelf stable sauerkraut is still delicious, it doesn't have the probiotics that this one has. When analyzed in the lab, unpasteurized sauerkraut has a huge number of good bacteria (sorry, don't have exact numbers now but it's better than yogurt and most, if not all, probiotic supplements). This means that this $6 package of sauerkraut is a great deal for those wanting to help out their gut microbiome (without spending $$$$).
How can you use this type of sauerkraut as supplement? Enjoy a couple of tablespoons of it each day to build up the friendly bacteria in your gut.
