Hey everyone! Sorry for lack of posts, I've been doing physio and adductor strengthening exercises since last week: I found out I have a pinched sciatic nerve and groin strain. So that explains the constant pain and leg problems I've been having for 2 months. However I've been doing strengthening exercises, stretching and foam rolling to fix my legs! So much so that I could squat: ⭐️ 405 for sets of 3 followed by 405 for sets of 5!! That's a big PR for me and a surprise with the lack of leg training I've been doing. I believe the adductor work/rest has been really helping. Spot the difference!! Had running analysis with my coach again and apparently all those drills are paying off. Phew! I now have better forward lean, knee drive, plantarflexed foot, less of a dropped right shoulder and no horrible pulling in my Achilles. And now I run with a smile 😃Progress!!! Love treating myself to the @wholefoods salad bar every once in a while! Yum! 😋😍 I always try to carry a water bottle with me wherever I go, and before I eat a meal I stop for a moment and make sure to drink at least half of it. This helps me pause before indulging, so that I eat slower, am more mindful, and become satiated quicker. It's also helpful to drink more water after the meal, especially if you are unsure if you are still hungry. Wednesday 10am Circuit Breaker!! Another great class this morning focused on fundamental movement and core strength. One thing I think I’m always failing to elaborate more on in my workouts is the attention to body awareness. The little details. Often times I hear clients or members mention exercises or equipment that hurt them. A good example is Kettlebells and the all too familiar lower back pain. They often blame the equipment or the movement for their pain but in reality it’s either bad form, Dysfunctional movement due to sedentary lifestyle or lack of body awareness. What position is your hip in during the movement? Are you able to activate your core, Glutes, Diaphram? You can have the form absolutely PERFECT and still hurt yourself. It’s the attention to the little things that make my workouts what they are. I won’t rant on about this too much at the moment ( I’ll make a separate post later ) but the point is attending my class is very different from watching it over social media. If you haven’t tried this class like these other beasts have, I highly recommend it. I love being able to help others get to the bottom of what’s holding them back from progress. Let’s figure it out and fix it so you can become more! Faster, stronger and more athletic overall. To those who attended today, GREAT job! I definitely pushed you guys. A lot of people speed through the reps just to get sets finished, they forget about what muscles 💪 they’re working , they load up the weight and use momentum to move the weight and forget about proper form . This is just ego lifting with little or no benefit . -So select the appropriate weight needed to complete the exercise with proper form . -Control the weight through the full range of motion. -Think 💭 about the muscle your using ( mind muscle connection ) you will be surprised how much more you feel it . -Complete the reps at a steady tempo e.g 2 seconds down , pause at the bottom for 1 second and 2 seconds back up ( time under tension) you can mess around with the timing yourself to spice it up a little. #lats #back #backworkout #properform #weights #fit #fitness #fitnessmotivation #gym #gymlife #gymrat #gymtime #youvsyou #coach #personaltrainer #mindmuscleconnection #irishfitfam #progress #progressnotperfection

Kris why do you practice so damn much?? Well - that is a long explanation First of - I’m practicing 8 hours every day... YES... EVERY DAY! and I’m doing it basically for two reasons. Reason one I wanna be the best... 2nd place is not an option in my book. I wanna be on the A list like my heroes. I wanna be that guy you call for a session, a tour, or just a single gig. I love being in constant progress and as I grow I get closer to the goal which is being on the A list. Reason two I have a responsibility! As I get better - every single band, every single artist, every SINGLE person I work with right now and in the future will get better because we affecting and inspire each other to play and sing the very best we can and it will lead to the best product. I as well as you have a responsibility to everyone you work with. If I or you get better the music gets better. So do yourself and everyone else you are working with musicwise a BIG favor... PRACTICE... You will get better and everyone else around you will get better... It’s a win-win. PRACTICE!!
