Building strength.... There are NOT quick fixes to achieve these things. I know, not what you want to hear. For me it’s been a journey; it’s been a lifestyle change.
It’s been having a game plan to follow to keep me focused and on track. I need that kind of direction. It’s what works for me. I just finished up one of those “game plans” that have allowed to even weave in treats and have cheat days and only having to workout 4 days a week. On the other 3 days you can truly take rest days or maybe enjoy a walk or some yoga or PiYo - but nothing too strenuous.
I’m starting again on October 1st - it’s an 8 week program. Can you commit to yourself 4 days a week for 8 weeks? You know you deserve that “me time”, right?! From your home, with my support and a whole group of ladies after similar goals with similar challenges!

What have I done to get visible abs, even at healthy maintenance body weight? Firstly, every body is different so some people will need to be very lean for abs to show. I don’t really hold fat around my midsection - partly genetics but also responsible is good training/food/recovery. I’ll be honest I’ve never actually trained ‘to get abs’... My focus is on increasing overall muscle mass and strength. My workouts: mixture of compound lifts + bodybuilding style weight training - sometimes involving conditioning and core work + pole dancing once a week. I eat to fuel my sessions (hello carbs 🍚🍠🥦🍓) and overall health, as well as most importantly fuelling/resting enough to recover and reduce stress 😴. Being consistent with this approach has kept my metabolism happy ***Cool thing to note: the more muscle you have the more calories you burn even when resting 😏💪🏼*** So I can maintain a relatively lean yet HEALTHY physique on a decent amount of calories - which I am so grateful for considering I loooove food 🐽 but have an office job. If I do fancy leaning out further then I can utilise the ‘mini-cut' approach as I have no desire to get super shredded. Anyway I could go on and on, but in short these abs haven’t been achieved by starving myself, using magic pills, endless cardio or even endless ab workouts 🤷♀️ Get lifting properly with intensity, nourish & respect your body, trust the process and start loving it ❤️ @fcr.training

Everyone is going to get pretty tired of these but the non scale victories just blow me away. I have a really really hard time seeing changes in my body. I feel like a lot of the time I’m in the same place I started. Which can get really really emotionally taxing to think even though you’re working really hard there’s no change. It makes it really hard to keep going and not just want to give up. But here it is.
