I recently finished my 9th IsaBody Challenge and it got me reflecting back on my journey. 🤔⠀
The person on the left was tired and depressed. She suffered from daily panic attacks and lost her love of life. She was headed in a downward spiral. One that she knew she had to get out of. 🙅🏼♀️⠀
The person on the right is vibrant and happy. She loves life and enjoys the company of others. She loves her schedule best when it is full. She has a tribe that supports her and loves her. This girl is unstoppable!🥰⠀
How did she go from one to the other you may ask? She took a leap of faith and joined a new community on a health and wellness journey. She changed her nutrition, yes, but more importantly she immersed herself in the culture of the community. They build her up when she is down. It is truly the best! 🤩⠀

for this insane recipe! Isn’t it amazing that we can use our delicious protein to create more than just shakes? Good thing I have extra pumpkin spice to concoct this for thanksgiving week. And best part? No guilt 🎃

PROTEIN POWDERS 🔥
Do you drink protein shakes? & when? 🤔
Protein supplements! In my opinion, they should be on top of your supplement list. Convenient for when you’re on the go and it makes reaching your total daily protein goal so much easier. However, not all protein powders are equal. There are many other forms of protein powder, but today I’m only focussing on the milk based ones: 3 types of whey and casein .
Think of whey as a fast-acting protein (ideal post-workout) and casein as the slower version (ideal pre-bed) .
➡️CONCENTRATE: This is the least processed version and the most popular one! It still contains some lactose and fat so tends to be a bit higher in calories per serving. But don’t get me wrong: it’s still a very lean protein source. A good quality concentrate is packed with a lot of good stuff that is taken out of the other types of whey 💪
➡️ISOLATE: This one has a very high percentage of its calories coming from protein. At least 90%. The lactose and fat have been almost completely removed meaning you can get in 30g of protein for 120-130 cals. People dieting very hard might prefer this type since it’s easier to stay in a caloric deficit with it 📉
➡️HYDROLYZED: This whey has been broken down a bit more so that your body doesn’t have to work as hard and can absorb it. In other words: it’s even more fast-acting than normal whey. This is also the reason why it’s the most expensive protein powder 💲
➡️CASEIN: Casein acts way slower than whey and does not peak muscle protein synthesis as much. What it does instead is keeping an increased level of MPS for a longer time. That’s why most people tend to take if before bed 😴
What is the best type? It depends on your goal, if you can digest lactose properly and how much money you’e willing to spend of it. The most important thing stays the quality of the brand and ratio of protein/calories ⚠️ .

Sometimes toxic people aren’t inherently bad people, they just aren’t the right people for us. And as hard as it is, we have to them go. Life is hard enough without being around people who bring you down, and as much as you care, you can’t destroy yourself for the sake of someone else. You have to make you wellbeing a priority. Whether that means breaking up with someone you care about, letting go of a friend, or removing yourself from a situation that feels painful - you have every right to leave and create a safer space for yourself. Never compromise your happiness for the sake of someone else.
