🤦♀️ This rumble roller and I have a love hate relationship for sure!
🔑 The key to this kind of stretching is to find your tender spots or knot and actually stay there, not just keep rolling on it.
🎯 You need to add pressure to that sucker for at least 30 seconds (sometimes longer) until that muscle tension releases. 💯 Even when you are only working out 20 minutes a day, you need a good stretch day, especially when you are working this hard!
✅ I sometimes will roll my claves before I workout depending on how I am feeling that morning…it hurts so good getting those knots out!
Since September 2017 I had not walked/run. My focus had been taking care of my sick husband. Today, I walked (almost crawled 😬) my first 5K. I was so nervous thinking that I would be the last one and that it would take me forever to finish. I am proud to say that I was NOT the last one and I did it under an hour. As I walked I kept looking up at the sky, hoping, praying that you were looking down on me. I cried at the end, and I knew that you are as proud of me as I am of myself for doing it! Oh that little voice. I wonder if its that little voice that is the strongest part of us?
Words of encouragement at any time is more precious than words of encouragement just when we succeed. How often do we really hear that someone is proud of us? Not because they are out to get something out of their praises, but, just because they want to build us up. Sadly, we don't get enough praise. Not from others and not from ourselves. We're too quick to focus on our mistakes or things that we have done or not done that we don't like. Praise from people we admire, respect and value is priceless. I often keep texts, notes, cards etc.from people over the years that have encouraged me or shown their appreciation. When I need a boost I get them out and read them. This is a very effective way to encourage me to keep going. Thankfully, I've got beautiful family, inspirational friends, a business coach/ mentor and health/fitness mentor who regularly encourage me. Sometimes others see change in you before you see change in yourself and we need their words of praise to keep us on the right track in our lives.
