One weekend me and my friend were deciding a place to visit in Pune as we were tired of our daily hectic schedule and needed little break. Then finally we came up with an idea of visiting two places in one day.
Rajiv Gandhi zoological Park and Parvati Hills
So to cover both the places we decided to leave early morning.
The Rajiv Gandhi zoological Park or Katraj Zoo is located in Katraj, Pune. It is managed by Pune Municipal Corporation and divided into three parts:animal orphanage, zoo(birds, reptiles, mammals) and snake garden. The weather was too hot when we reached. We bought the tickets and entered inside the zoo.We saw different no. Of animal species , greenery, clean and peaceful environment. It took 3 hrs to complete the round of zoo. We were tired as it was getting more and more hot, but despite of that we enjoyed. We were hungry and we really required to energize our body for the next place. Luckily when we came outside ,on the right hand side there were food stalls and here we filled our tummies.
Suggestions: Camera allowed, don't take any eatable or plastic items with you, watch the weather before you plan.
Now we booked a cab till Parvati Hills.
Parvati hills is a hillock in Pune. It is the second highest point in Pune after Vetal Hill. There are total of approx 100 stone stairs to reach at top of the hill.We were walking few steps and then hault for some time. It is surrounded by trees ,Pune view and yeah good for taking pictures but be careful don't be over adventurous otherwise you might face accidents. The hill was owned by the Taware Patil and later on Peshwa purchased the hill from him. Finally we reached Temple and there we saw Surya and Bhawani Temple, Ganesh Temple, Vishnu Temple, Devdeveshwar Temple, Vitthal and Rama Temple. The main beauty lies when u see the sunset and it's rays on Temple , complete different view, totally colorful. From top of the hill we saw the complete view of Pune, especially at night, it's just like lighting candles in the dark.Too much walking in one day but enjoyed the nature.
Suggestions: visit in evening (just before sunset), camera, eatables allowed, cab book difficulty, girls no heels
