107.5kg! A new deadlift PB. Strength training is absolutely my favourite thing and although I’m not training for numbers it feels good to test your progress once every few months. These skin the cats are getting there! Little bit better every time I practise. Scary at first but absolutely worth learning both on the fixed bar and the rings; a great workout for the lats, triceps and the abs. . . . Today’s workout! For time do 3 rounds of: 30 DB snatches 30 t2b . . . . A really simple and quick full body workout to get the heart racing on a Saturday morning. See how quickly you can do it! . . . To scale choose a t2b regression that can be completed in blocks of 5-10. The same for the DB weight, heavy but achievable. This is a workout for time, don’t struggle through single reps!

Being able to control your own bodyweight is a very powerful thing and can bring so much confidence with it. . . . Handstands are a very good way of mastering that control; learning to move with purpose through space is always an eye opening experience. More importantly, they are just really fun and having a play whilst you work out is the whole point right? . . . OH squatting this afternoon finally felt like it was going my way! My shoulder has been uncooperative and unpredictable which has made snatching and OH squatting intimidating but it felt very smooth and natural this afternoon which is just the best feeling! 💪🏻🏋🏼‍♀️ Before this I did a little 15 minute AMRAP OF 7 snatches, 7 pull ups. Then a cheeky 50 cal air bike finisher. Workouts don’t have to be long to be effective!

After playing about with all the cleans this seemed like a good idea. Maximum hard but very fun and only takes 15 minutes to complete! Scaling: Switch t2b to hanging knees for a beginner version. If it’s too easy, up your cals on the bike!

Practice what you enjoy! _ Anyone who tells you that you HAVE to train a certain way (especially when it comes to weight loss/maintenance), probably isn’t worth listening to. _ For me, the quote “specialised for nothing, but ready for anything” really resonates. _ If you love running, then run Want to be a bodybuilder, bodybuild Enjoy yoga, great. Do yoga, Want to be healthy, strong and move well for a long time, do some of everything, focussing on the stuff you really enjoy the most, but incorporating a wide range of movements, weights etc too. _ The idea that I could enter a powerlifting competition or complete a triathlon or even just do a backflip at any given time and do ok, is great!
