One of my favourite Surah is Surah Yusuf. Although I am a non-Arab language speaker, I find that every word that is uttered when I am listening to this beautiful masterpiece, something just happens in my heart and I want to keep listening to whole 30 minutes when I am on my train while going to my institution. It is mesmerising that a holy book that is 1400 years old can tell you the biggest trials and tribulations that mostly the youth from the today face the most: sexual desires. But what Prophet Yusuf (as) does is to show how to deal with such trials and portrays how hard it can be for any person like you and I, who are young and surrounded with Fitnah. The solution, although shown effortlessly in the Quran, it is even harder to comprehend how the Prophet must have felt at that time.
Putting Allah first before anything in this world is a hard challenge for anyone, but for a true devotee of Allah it is easier because they have the true support and back up from Him. As a young adult myself, I find it fascinating and curious why more youth do not recite or refer back to Surah Yusuf when facing sexual desires or other trials and tribulations in general, because the Prophet is the clear example as seen in this Surah. Each and every Surah is life changing, but this one 100% stands out for me. -
Surah Yusuf is definitely the one that I listen to more often than not, because it relates to me as a person and the trials I might face daily.

The Virtue of Patience and Prayer
After Allah commanded that He be appreciated, He ordained patience and prayer. It is a fact that the servant is either enjoying a bounty that he should be thankful for, or suffering a calamity that he should meet with patience.
A Hadith states:
Amazing is the believer, for whatever Allah decrees for him, it is better for him!
If he is tested with a bounty, he is grateful for it and this is better for him;
and if he is afflicted with a hardship, he is patient with it and this is better for him.
Allah has stated that the best tools to help ease the effects of the afflictions are patience and prayer.
Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said,
"Sabr has two parts:
patience for the sake of Allah concerning what He is pleased with (i.e., acts of worship and obedience), even if it is hard on the heart and the body,
and patience when avoiding what He dislikes, even if it is desired.
Those who acquire these qualities will be among the patient persons whom Allah shall greet (when they meet Him in the Hereafter)
